They are snared and completely helpless, why shouldn't ambush work regardless of 'i can see you' status?

It's not really an ambush if they can see you.
am·bush <am-boosh> noun 1. an act or instance of lying concealed so as to attack by surprise: The highwaymen waited in ambush near the road. 2. an act or instance of attacking unexpectedly from a concealed position. 3. the concealed position itself: They fired from ambush. 4. those who attack suddenly and unexpectedly from a concealed position. So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Ambushes in real life do not play out or look anything like a CF ambush.
The typical set up for a static (VS. running)ambush is to lie in wait along a likely avenue of approach, (I.E. trails and roads) and typically occupying ground that is higher than or separated by a barrier from the route taken by the target. When the target group has fully entered the kill zone the ambush is initiated.
The gold standard for executing and completing an ambush, destroying the enemy and their gear (Yes we piled their gear up and blow it in place, lol, full sac! No honour I know!)leaving and calling for covering fires was 5 minutes.
Often times we successfully ambushed people who knew we were in the area.
The key to a successful ambush is not so much as catching someone unawares, as it is catching them unprepared.
Being snared and immobile would seem to me to, by default, place someone in a state of unpreparedness.
I've never had a problem with the CF ambush and how it plays out or looks. It seems "real" in the context of our favorite game here. That being said, it isn't accurate so siting a scource that is the epitome of accuracy might not be the best thing.
I like the idea of being able to ambush a snared assassin who has marked a ranger, that seems like a fair exception to an extremely powerful/useful skill that can be spammed effortlessly and repeatedly until it takes.

I feel like you should not be able to evade a ranger's ambush in a snare - you can't move, how do you nimbly step out of the way? Also, you shouldn't be able to counterstrike/anticipate when snared, you can't move, how do you move your shield in front to parry? Also, how about an edge to make snares resistant to invoker's shield of flames/daggers? How about making snare evaluator edge send you a message the tick before it breaks (you notice the snare's ropes starting to fray in places).

Snare is a ridiculously good skill. I don't know why you would think we would remove its few marginal counters or downsides.
