#150, "Improvements to the Bounty system"
Edited on Sat 24-Nov-07 07:27 PM

Allow them to be placed on people out of PK range and when they are logged off.

As it is now, anyone that actually wants someone else dead needs to be in their PK range. It makes things rather pointless and it was tedious to find someone to place the bounty for you.

Allow people to use items, including limited and unique ones, as rewards for a bounty, or copper, but not both.

Implement a week long time limit for a bounty so that it expires (and subsequently frees up/destroys the rare item offered to keep it in circulation).

The bounty office should show who placed the bounty on whom. It should be a method of breeding interaction between people out of one another's PK range as well as between enemies.

Multiple bounties should be placed by different people on the same person.

I'm still against this from a policing standpoint. The only way this happens is if we can get some form of automated policing.

Not going to happen.

>The bounty office should show who placed the bounty on whom.

This is something that can probably be made to happen based on bribery and such.

>Multiple bounties should be placed by different people on the
>same person.

This can alredy happen.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

What is there to be policed? I'm not seeing any abuse there. If a hero wanted to put a bounty on a lvl 11 who pissed him off, why not? What am I missing that could be abused this way?

So-and-so logs in their hero warrior who has 500 gold coins in the bank. Said hero puts 100 gold coin bounty on nameless level 11 transmuter. Hero logs off and logs on level 15 bash-everything-in-sight fire giant warrior. Fire giant warrior kills transmuter and collects 100 gold.

And you think things like this do not already happen with items? Trust me it does and the fact is it is truly impossible to stop which is sad.

Back to bounties:

Make it so that anyone outside of PK range who wants to place a bounty has to attach a note to Bounty. I know this means the bounty will have to be reviewed but reviewed at the liesure of the Imms. So said transfer tactic becomes quite pointless because you never know when the bounty will go through. Nice touch would be that make it so the gold is spent regardless of whether or not the bounty is placed. Frivolous bounties are not welcomed thus further preventing stupid gold passing bounties.

Bounty system would be just as easy to monitor as gear passing. IP 1 drops X gear. IP 1 then logs on gets X gear. IP = cheat ban.

IP 1 places X bouny. IP 1 collects X bounty. IP = cheat ban.

Now onto something I would like to see: if someone out of PK range loots a corpse they are automatically available for bounty by the player who got looted and the slayer of said player. I HATE out of PK range looters. Really HATE out of range PK looters who take #### they can not use.

Back to Magus' point: if stupid level 11 loots heroes corpse who has 100 gold in bank he is going to die. A pleasantly horrible, horrible death hopefully.

Unka Arzzra Out.
