#9192, "Oceans and Items"

I heard that some time ago there was some effort put towards trying to get items dropped in the ocean to sink down. This sounds really cool... what happened to that?

that the playerbase would prattle on endlessly about, bitching feverishly about how it's yet another example of how CF is becoming too realistic and tedious. Eating seaweed and typing "d" twice would put us out too much.

In light of that truth, I'd urge the imms against it.

Currently things crumble in certain parts of the ocean. I think people would rather eat seaweed and dive for it, than lose it completely.

It has been that way for years. The simple answer is don't drop things in the ocean.

I think their point is that it's not obvious that would happen, so there's no real reason to think, "Oh, maybe I shouldn't drop my stuff here." You get burned and you figure it out, but that still means you have to get burned once.
