I know for defenses (parry, dodge, shield block), the difficulty of the mob relative to yourself is a factor. This includes ironhands, unarmed defense, flourintine, spin, and distance, right? What about weapon skills? Combat skills (trip, pincer, throw, kick, dirt, etc.)? Other passive skills (concealed, riposte, charge set, etc.)?

The helpfile on 'skill improvement' covers what factors in. Link.

This actually comes up with enough frequency that I've gone ahead and added 'SKILL IMPROVEMENT' to the See Also line for help skills.

So if you remember to help skill, skills, improve or improvement, you should be able to find your way there eventually.

Cheers.
