#50806, "Altruism"
|
A few people have spoken about it, the perpetual out of range help available when there are several acolytes on at one time.
Fighting someone of even ability/level or even lower ability gets turned on it's head by Acolytes, seemingly, spamming altruism on that person with all their might.
I would never say acolytes are overpowered but the willy-nilly use of Altruism, I think, could do with a little tweak.
Having just finished the WoT series on Holiday I had a thought about Aes Sedai healing and altruism.
Could it be made to draw on the energy of the recipient a little to make acolytes more thoughtful about who to, when and how often they use it on lowbies.
Maybe make it take a percentage of mv/mana or both.
Just a thought.

out of range tribunal guards, centurions, bioempathy, healers, transmuters, invokers, and even conjies can all threaten me as much, if not more, than altruism. At least altruism comes with some potentially dangerous side effects, unlike the ones available from other classes.

Altruism already does this. All of the negative effects and hp damage that the recipient was suffering from gets transferred to the Acolyte.
There are several ways to make altruism more cumbersome to use. Do your research.

I.e. there are too many acolytes/forties. I've seen the same thing with imperial healers.

Somewhere between 25-50% of Aster's life was being the only Fortress member on. The rest was having one, two more tops. Cabalwars command is nice and all, but don't consider it accurate.

There was a sweet spot for Empire between Tolgrumm's death and Kraldinor's, but it's back to the way I remember it for most of my tenure in CF. The metrics in cabalwars are accurate, they only need be interpreted correctly.

Indicating it wasn't "stuck." It's back on Fort and for the last year+ has leaned heavily towards Fort most times, but can't say it is "stuck" if it just recently moved for a good couple months.

It's hard to see any evil heroes outside of scion air/offense shifters enjoying much success in this environment.

This includes far more than just healers.
I understand evil Empowerment is being addressed, but it's going to be a while before anything comes of it I fear.
