Or something along those lines for people who choose the "new to CF" option. I always find it sad when I see a newbie warrior at level 20 with maybe 10 damroll worth of gear and are still hitting for less than capital letters.

This is how I'd see it play out.

An echo at level 15 (the final level for newbie channel, right?)
help gear(ing) - a basic talk about gearing and what typical people look for, then a breakdown of several options like:
help dex/str warrior gear
help mage gear

Then some suggestions of what to look for and where they might look for it. At 15, I can think of plenty of items to gather, non-limited, that would increase my damroll, hitroll, hp, and stats.

To me this is very arbitrary, and you could end up with a recommended list for nearly every race/class combo that exists. I think for this to be even considered you'd have to dumb it down and come up with a very small list.
