#2160, "Help Human"
|
The help file at creation says they (can) gain more benefit from magical devices than other races. But the help file in game does not. Do they or no? Should one of the help files be changed to reflect such?

It used to be that there was no maximum on stats, so if you had 18 strength and wore +10 strength gear, you'd have 28. Not so, CF.

They have no vulnerabilities that need to be covered.
For example, a felar needs to cover it's fire vulnerability with an ancient red dragon hide. Net gain = 0 but it has covered a negative.
The Human just gains resistance to fire. This is what the helpfile about gaining more benefit from magical items comes from.

Especially since enemies will try to target you with fire which is no longer a vuln, but they will actually be hitting into a resistance. That said, at some point in the far distance past, humans could raise stats past racial max, which *I think* is where the line in the helpfile comes from, however those days are long past and the line should probably be removed, since it doesn't seem to be true.

Felar are vulnerable to fire. When they use resistance to fire/flame item they become no longer vulnerable but just hurt normally from fire. Thus I said it negated the vuln but a human who is hurt normally from fire then becomes resistant to fire by using the same item.

Actually, in that case felar go straight to resistant.
