#2030, "detect charm"
|
Although I'm far from being a newbie, here are a couple questions that might be useful to newbies as well.
Just how much use is there in the detect charm spell? And is it really worth practicing?
It lets you see that a planar creature has been bound (and if memory serves it puts a (Charmed) flag on pets as well. But what exactly is the usefulness in that? Ok, so I know this mob belongs to a player. Is that really the only use?
With the last conjie I played, someone (a non-conjie) told me in game that it allows you to "dispel the bindings" on a mob if you have it up. I've never tested this yet, but it sounds rather fishy to me. Is there any truth in this?

I don't see any use for the spell. I've never not known if my own servitors were "charmed" or not. The helpfile doesn't suggest that the spell gives any bonus to dismissal, bind elemental, darkbind or lightbind. If there is a bonus, I'm pretty sure the helpfile would reflect that.

There is some truth in what that someone told you. But, I won't feed you all the ins and outs.
