#1985, "Question about hide"

Helpfile says that when hide is mastered it almost never fails, yet I have noticed that warriors (maybe other classes too, but I have mostly been fighting those) easily see where I am at when I hide.

Im playing a class with inherent sneak and anyway it doesn't seem to matter if I move around or stay still. Also Im playing a thief and this has happened in places like Galadon and its sewers, so it cannot be because of a wrong terrain type.

As a newbie to CF I chose a thief especially to have a way to escape warriors, which seems to be the favourite class for lowbie pk'ers here. Do warriors really have some kind of ability which I have overlooked or am I missing something else here?

With hide at 100%, it will never fail (unless you have something modifying your hide skill lower).

As was mentioned, duergars have the ability to see hidden, as do some shapeshifter forms. Hide isn't the silver bullet, but it is pretty good.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Duergar have the inherent ability to see hidden people.

Something I do when I am a hiding class.

Highlight all of the names of the people that will be able to see you.

If you're using Zmud, just type #high NameOfPerson colorYouWant

Just make sure to keep adding people. When you're sitting somewhere and someone can see you, even when they are way out of your pk range and they look at you, it'll tip off other people that you are there.
