#1375, "Pen and scroll writing?"

What exactly does Pen do? Does it allow you to make magical scrolls or does it just let you write notes? "Not everything is as it seems."

Maybe if Pen skill was high enough percent one could actually make scrolls. Transmuters could make haste scrolls, or whatever spells they can cast. Sell them to people. Within reason I guess. Ive always though Pen was kind of odd. Hope is the worst of evils, for it prolongs the torment of man.

I really hate the idea of being able to make magic scrolls.
I liked it when I started mudding, but now I think it would make for cheesy fights where too many people have too many preps, and ooc groups can help each other out even when not logged on together.

Isn't that a bit of a usless skill, in a practical sense? "Not everything is as it seems."

Information has a price.
I wonder how much you could sell that penned scroll with barrier locations for?
That said, it would be necessary to make sure you didn't try to ply OOC knowledge (wand locs) for in-game rewards (money or items in exchange).

I don't think wand locs qualify as OOC knowledge.

I think they do if you didn't "discover" the location with the character writing the note. Otherwise, I agree.
