Had some good fun raiding/defending against Mizze and Delaguy. You were tough with those hasted lieuts but I'm sure I got you a few times. Good times most certainly. I like the ideas you bring to the Tribunal table. A little tidious for certain playing styles but very neatly planned and thought out. Ah well, Tribunal already has a new leader... the damned tree is still missing two. HAR?!?

Ahhh Hell. Thank you for everything.

Loved leveling with you. Then out of nowhere you became Hero. I'm sorry I am not around as much, problems in life.

Loved the medal system, but to keep track of it much be one hell of a job. I would love to see that system in place, but it will be hard.

#87626, "Here's a Breakdown of the Merit System I Put in Place"
In response to Reply #0

MERIT SYSTEM

In an effort to standardize the promotion process the following system
will be set in place immediately. Each Magistrate will earn Merit
Points toward promotions and assignments. Understand, just by having
accrued the points needed for a posting does not guarantee assignment
to that post. You must still attend the promotion board and at all times
the needs of the Spire will be maintained over all other considerations.

Minimum points needed for various postings:

Provincial: 30
Galadon: 15
Hamsah Mu'tazz: 10
Voralian City: 5

Points available to earn:

Guildrank
(These are applied at the time of consideration, and do not accrue)
25-30: 1
31-35: 2
36-40: 3
41-45: 4
46-51: 5

Cumulative Points
(Once you accrue these, they are on your record forever)

In person training: 2
Written training or exam: 1
Tier One Citation: 1
Tier Two Citation: 3
Tier Three Citation: 5
Participation in Promotion Board: 1

So for example:
I am assigned to Seantryn Modan. I have 34 guild titles. I have attended
one previous promotion board, taken one training exam and earned two
tier one citations. I have 6 Merit Points, making me eligible for transfer
to Voralian City.

While Fun for you, it means absolutly nothing to the Player. What does he get? A couple lines of text in his description and a Promotion/move to another city?

It's already a tedius enough Cabal, and I appreciate that you were trying to add some spice/RP/and flavor, but there's really no tangible reward for the players to receive for having to go through this.

Now if this WAS the system of promotion for Tribunals, it'd be alright I suppose if they recieved some minor ability/Imm Exp with each successful boarding.

Just saying.

The goal was simple.

For the player to say, "Hey, why I am I still in Seantryn Modan at
level 40."

You could glance at this and see exactly why. I wanted to remove
mystery and subjectivity from promotions.

I'm not sure what you mean by "having to go through this". If you mean
having to send me a note saying they wanted to be promoted at the time
I called for notes to be sent (promotion board), then just sit back
and wait for the result - then yes, they "had to go through" that.

Anyways, that's all past - I've deleted now! thanks for posting!

#87588, "Farewell to Dela!"
In response to Reply #0

Well that was a fairly fun, if not somewhat painful ride. I originally
made Dela in the hopes of being a background, behind the scenes type,
who would rise to Justiciar. Things worked out that I became Provost
instead, so you know what they say about the best of plans.

Having had a couple Provosts before (and being a former Trib Imm),
I wanted to try something different from the norm. Hence, the creation
of the merit system complete with medals, paperwork and red tape.
Having been in law enforcement when I was a younger man, I brought a
lot of that process to the Spire with a touch of my Army days for
added flavor.

In the end, Dela just became too much of a time sink for me, especially
with some of the things in the works for me in Immland. I believe I'm
leaving the Spire in better shape than when I found it, which makes me
feel less bad for moving on.

Too many people to shout out to, so leave a message and I'll reply.

After that first time I died in the Spire and you held my gear hostage, I was pretty annoyed Deladriembor. But in retrospect I understand why you did it. And you certainly seemed to stick it out despite some disgusting odds. Was trying to acknowledge that in an IC way last night when I sent you the tell about how you must be lonely. Not sure if it got the point across.

Yeah I got it, sorry I was too busy fighting three of them to respond.

I vaguely remember the hostage thing you refer to, but in my defense,
I used the confiscate command and it took what it took. Remember, once
you've been a criminal so many times, it starts to take more than just
weapons. So while I the player, could care less if you got your
skirt of fangs (or whatever it was) back, there was no way I was going
to take it from the pit and give it back.

Only really remember one good fight with you that ended soooo close.
You ambushed my ranking group in the underdark mines, killed Laegwin
in one hit, I faerie fired you, Sashrimoto garroted you, I spelled you
up - but before I was ready, Sashy attacked you. Then we had a fun
run around the underdark which ended as most pk attempts against you
end - with me dead. Anyways, good fun. Keep it up, really like Sulye!

I thought I was dead for sure when he garrotted me. Was already planning out my regearing strategy.

The gear thing- I think I raided shortly after that to get the scales and my gear, and you took it out of the Trib pit before I could kill the Executioner.

Also, I didn't know that about confiscate. That clears up a few things.

I've interacted with Dela on several characters - Ishtan and Naqnoq and had somewhat mixed feelings. There are a few things that I really liked and there were a few approaches that you took that were outstanding, refreshing and unique. There were, however, certain things that I vehemently disagreed with.

The good: Your RP was superb. You stuck to your role. And you really did do well as a Acolyte in the Spire type of a role. The badges system was unique and different. You were very respectful to your enemies and did not loot. And I thought you were a charismatic leader.

The bad: From IC perspective, I really wish you had been more aggressive as the Provost against the Outlanders. As Ishtan (from purely IC perspective) I could not stick around because Ishtan had a very aggressive, yet somewhat dependent on others role, and I could not push forward. From OOC perspective, I don't like using Seantryn to Galadon promotion system. The idea is to have all the cities manned and the badge system had way too many folks in Seantryn that really should have been elsewhere.

As I mentioned in my goodbye post, I thought you would have been one of the best Justiciars/Provincials Thera has seen in a long time, but in my view Spire needed a more aggressive approach which you (for IC reasons obviously) did not provide.

I hope I showed you a few things (wands, for example) and I hope you enjoyed playing in the Spire. Also, my comments here are really intended to be constructive, and I hope you don't mind me being candid.

Cheers!

P.S.: I get too involved in Tribunal! I really should try a different cabal.

What I don't understand is why you need ME to be aggressive and bloodthirsty
to make YOUR role within the Spire work. How does that work?

As to the city breakdown - for nearly Dela's whole time in the Spire,
Galadon had more Magistrates than Modan. It's not my fault none of
them ever log on. =) Also, you never made it to see any of the promotion
boards. Of the ones I held, everyone who was in Modan and applied to
the board got promoted out.

If I can just offer a candid opinion back your way, I think you were
just a little too impatient and didn't let things play out.

Anyways, like what I saw from Ishtan. Naqnoq was an annoying tool. =)

The way I interpreted his comment is that his character had role reasons for being unable to push forward without your character's leadership. I don't think he meant that he couldn't have done it without you under any circumstances, just that the character he was playing wouldn't have.

"What I don't understand is why you need ME to be aggressive and bloodthirsty to make YOUR role within the Spire work. How does that work?"

- RP/role reasons. Ishtan had this ongoing onslaught approach, and it was not going to work.

"If I can just offer a candid opinion back your way, I think you were
just a little too impatient and didn't let things play out."

- Guilty as charged. Though Ishtan (as an arial) was intended to be impatient.

"Anyways, like what I saw from Ishtan. Naqnoq was an annoying tool. =)"

- Naqnoq was the test character to see how mages/wands worked. Learned a ton. He was a tool, wasn't he?

Looking forward to your next mortal! You did give the Spire a very different approach and I did like that.

I was going to do that EXACT thing with my next Trib or Maran.

When I looked at Venturd And saw he had some of the ribbons I had on my uniform I was rofled. It's a cool system.

I Have something like 5 full rows and an third, or more I forget. 20 years and a a couple wars and other actions make medals unfun and more of a chore. I stopped wearing all the Bling on my uniforms.

Cool beans here though.

I just want to say, about the "wait-til-I-strike-the-guard" thing.

I'm not sure how many of you have played a transmuter, but to go from
idle doing paperwork, chatting over cb, to battle ready takes a solid
60 seconds. And that's assuming the guards are already prepped.

meta quick
meta quick
adrenal
accelerate
shield
aura
(check stone skin)
(check spiderhands)
fly or calcify, depends on foe

So yeah, if you or anyone else came to town (all prepped up and ready
for a fight, I'd assume) it would take me time to finally get ready.

You always got your fight though didn't you? =)

That said, I took the anti-rot edge just for you after dying to the
first rot you ever gave me. Didn't die to it again after that.
Tough and skilled shamans are always a pain and you play it well.

No I wish they did, but they don't.. at least I could meta quicken them.

Except, there is a bug where they still make a save even though they are
trusting - so often it would take me 3 or 4 tries to quicken one guard.

Guards were usually, quickened, accelerated and petrified. I could
have done so much more damage with those things if I had wanted to.

And yup, adrenal burst works outside combat.

This indirectly got me killed, by the way. I put trustall on so you could quicken me, then evidently forgot to turn it off. Derogker (out-of-pk) then aristaeia'd me while I was fighting the Scion outer and Lornis killed me.

That does explain why it didn't work after that, but it did at least tire you down enough to maybe kill you other ways.

And yes, I did always get my fight

Sorry about that linkdead kill in your guild. I've got no excuse other than I was drinking a little (lot) too much that night and was sort of on autopilot.

I can't believe how much you whooped me in subsequent fights. martial trance+protection+stone skin + ~1200 hp's and your guards cut through me like nothing. Thanks for not neuro'ing me it would have only taken one.. I guess you really DIDN't want to kill anyone . Fun talks though, cheers.

The fact someone went to this much effort to reward the efforts of people in the Spire makes me want to roll up a Tribunal right now.

I mean on some level this is meaningless, sure, just like Achievements are on the XBox for a game you're playing anyway. But there's just something very rewarding about seeing those little pats on the back for doing well or even just sticking around and doing your job.

Simply awesome. I had no idea this was going on in Tribunal land. I wish I had earlier now.

Though good work on thinking this all out and trying to revamp the Tribunal IC, for me, personally, too much paperwork. I was planning to roll a tribunal when I start up CF again next semester, but I'll probably back off for now.

This isn't to say that this new concept is a bad thing, not just my style, though from the looks of what other people have to say, probably a good idea.

As I said, I haven't been playing so I don't really know what's going on, so in your opinion (and your all seeing omnipotent Imm opinion), how successful was this achievement/score system? Was it successful in the sense that a lot of people don't share the same playing times? And how well did the Tribunal population take it?

I remember that time i was playing around in your city with Yaniyule.

You chased us off and ended up saying something snippy to me, in hopes of taunting me back into the city to fight you. However, I responded by saying, "Don't we still have the scales?". I then promptly put you on ignore and ran to the tree waiting for the blood from your epeen to rush to your head. XD

Ah~ You learned why you should immediately flee after having a successful grand nocturne sung to you that day. You were dead before Yaniyule even reached the tree.

You were active and you were definately becoming a tougher enemy to deal with. I didn't like how your version of aggressiveness was basically to stand a step from galadon, fully spelled up with A/B/S, with lieutenants and grouped a hidden Sashrimito waiting for me to come attack you. However i'm sure you had your reasons and knew that i'd still come to try something anyways.

Good luck and thanks for your time.

Yo, I need some of the good stuff you are smoking my friend.

1. I didn't have the "B" in the A/B/S equation.
2. I never fought you anywhere but Galadon or the Tree. (mostly Galadon)
And never with Sashrimito.
3. I know the above is fact, because I wasn't aggressive at all
with Dela, I only defended Galadon/the Spire and was alone doing that
99.9% of the time.

I remember once you kept stepping out of the gate fully prepared, just west of galadon, i was moving around in the wead. I assumed it was because you had seen me, you also fought Ilvo for a bit.

I do remember running in and fiending you, and guessing correctly that Sashrimito was there aswell. You resisted, Sashrimito didn't. He survived and it wasn't that interesting so i have no log. However, that is all i was referring to, but its not important and really doesn't matter at all.

You say weren't agressive at all, and I am more then happy to agree with you. You did fight alone alot, i know the feeling, it can be tough. All in All, good character to fight esspecially at the end there, once again good luck to you and all that jazz.

How did I get inducted into the spire when you where in vorlia.

Correct. I remember interviewing you and recommending you when a lot
of other Tribs were saying HELL NO to you. I'm guessing Artenno
inducted you, I'm not sure what your point is, but I'll point out
I was in the Spire longer than you.

You didnt log in much till you became provost and had your funstick.

News flash, you don't get the "Funstick" as you call it by not
logging in.

Jingurzal 141 Hours

Deladriembor 233 Hours I know I hero'd in at least 100 hours.
So that leaves 133 hours as a hero trib. Just accept that maybe
I was on at different times than you? Could that be possible?

Dela was on duty 72% of his live since he joined the Spire. (Highest of all Magistrates)
Dela had 18500+ on duty ticks. (Also highest, nearly twice more than the
closest Magistrate)

So accusing me of not being around just doesn't wash.

When you got promoted three times, galadon, provincial and galadon.

Huh? Not sure what you are trying to say here. Yes I was promoted
three times. Galadon, Provincial, Provost.

I put in alot of ####ing work, and time. We cant count your time as Immortal as time put in. As an immortal you know I put in alot of time in that cabal. #### dude. Why did I not get bumped to galadon?

Timing? Your chosen RP? A number of factors led to this. You bad
mouthed an elder Magistrate over the CB. I told you to stop. You
sent me a tell, telling me to shut up. I made it clear if I was ever
in position to, I'd remove you from the Spire for insubordination.
Then, I was in position to, but instead I made you vow to obey the
chain of command and show it the respect it was due within an orderly
organization. You agreed. As I told you, it was a fresh start between
us. You didn't have the patience to wait until promotions were due out
within the new systems I implemented, instead about an hour later, you
demanded to be assigned to Galadon or you "wouldn't do your job".

Try that at work sometime, see how your boss reacts there. You got
about the same response.

The rest of this below is pretty much explained up top, but I'll add,
Imms know everything they and their character's see. Characters know
everything their characters see. How you were treated within the Spire
was based solely on what Deladriembor saw. Simple as that.

This is the most screwed up Char I had.

Anyways, you made your points, and I answered them. Please do not
clutter this thread with arguing back and forth. If you still aren't
clear on something, email me: grobbak@carrionfields.com

You kinda changed on me in the last quarter of your life. I am convinced it was the fact that you made some mistakes in your notice that I had to correct, and you, the character, was forever bitter about it, being the meticulous guy and all. If I'm wrong ok, but the way you spoke and acted subsequently certainly changed so perhaps while not deliberate it was something somewhat subconscious?

Regardless, I thought he was a well played char, had solid and constant rp and obviously went the extra mile to make some player driven cabal action. Something I applaud. Definitely generated reactions, and as the saying goes, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

The one thing I'm disappointed at though is it seems your character was at least one foot in the peace pool. How come you never mentioned that?

Out of curiosity, who were your past provosts?

Dude, needy much? =P

As you can see from the medal/merit point/promotion board/etc etc
when I was on, I was busy. So I didn't often enjoy idle chit chat.

As I explained in game, Dela never had any ill feelings, so what if
I missed a comma or spelled something wrong at 3am. It happens.

Actually, you'd responded to everyone else except me, so wondered if there was a problem.

And you didn't answer my two real questions. One I get, you don't want to mention other imms. But the other, why you never mentioned the non-agressive thing, I'm really curious about that. It's hard finding people with even one foot in that pool, would have been interesting to talk about ic. Was very surprised you never mentioned it.

I was anti-pk, not anti-kill-anything-sentient like I seem to gather
Bezz is/was. So never really occurred to me to chat about it. Then
again, see above about this character's take on chit chats.

I mostly only ever discussed it with tribs a few enemies who wanted to
RP.
