It's been a blast. Unfortunately, as I said in Mesharrah's thread, work and real life and other such responsibilities have been eating away at my time. I knew there was going to be a point with an upcoming trip that I'd have to delete or face autodeleting, and knowing that really sapped a lot of my will to play.

So, farewells:

Scions:

Many many people, yet only a few I got to know well. Too busy with other things, I suppose.

Dullameh - Nicely done. You and I seemed to work together very well, and agreed on almost everything. In some ways that was bad, and I felt like I just blended into your shadow - nevermind the fact that there was no way anyone would ever see me as a major threat when they were too busy being preoccupied with you. But that's life

Rhowyn - Someone else who's probably overlooked because of the larger than life shadow cast by Dullameh, but maybe that will work to your advantage. I liked you, and wished we could've worked together more. I really wanted to spend some time exploring NI with you. Anyway, best of luck in lichquesting, and everything beyond that. I was half tempted to give you my etched pendants at the end there, but it just wouldn't have been in character for Dahlisyn.

Krivohan - A solid guy, I was glad to see you made Chancellor, you seem to have been working very hard for it. We also worked well together, with all the item gathering we did. It would have been great to keep going with all the quest and exploratory threads we had going, especially within the Chancellery. Maybe in the next character lifetime.

Jhamas - You were pretty tough yourself. I said a bit in your farewell, but I'll mention you again since you were the other part of what I felt was the four way grouping of you, me, Dullameh, and Krivohan, one from each guild. I figured you too would have become Chancellor, in time, but I guess Valguarnera is a bit absentminded (For example, I still never had the scion leader power, either that or Krivohan got one and I didn't, for reasons unknown to me. Not that I needed it, I was tough enough without it).

Warlocks:
You were annoying, in a good way. Counterspell is tough to fight through, though none of you were able to kill me one on one. I always wondered about Daurwyn, but he seems to have poofed - it would've been an interesting fight. Warlock Invokers were a serious pain, though in reality it was more that there was a ton of them, and when they shielded up a group, I was rendered next to useless without a group of my own. On the whole, good job.

Battle:
I look fondly on Battle in some ways, since it was the first cabal I was ever leader for. Almost all of my interactions with Battle as Dahlisyn were fighting, and I'll post two of the 'cool' logs of fights (I only save logs that really stick out in my mind as being unusual or special) here.

Tobeldest - Grr. Getting killed by you was a good reminder to me to finish up my shield spamming.

For the most part though, it broke down like this:

Berserkers - 0wn3d j00.

Scouts - Like trying to pk a brick wall. Very annoying, but not quite enough of a threat, since there were almost no thieves or assassins, Battle is almost entirely warriors now, which boggles me.

Berserker Warriors aren't the Invoker killers, nor should they expect to be, especially against a smart tough invoker like me, who knows how to manage preps.

I will however comment on the whole shitstorm in Thror's forum though, since I was the person (or one of them) that prayed about the logon, because from my point of view, it went like this:

-Dullameh, me, two other scion heros on, plus lowbies, vs Rekuch, we've got the head.

-Dullameh quits.

-Within ten to fifteen minutes, the other scions are gone, and four Battle heroes have shown up.

Sorry, but stuff like that raises a red flag in my mind, and apparently the Imms agreed.

Sylvan:

Boldereth - You were full of yourself. Get over it. Also, sitting at 41 is pathetic. I've been a mid level leader myself, as a Rager Warrior, and had to rank up, so you get zero sympathy from me. Grow a pair next time, is my acerbic advice. }>

Siacla - Pretty much said it all in your goodbye thread. You were alright, and I felt bad having to fight/kill you.

Targaryen - You're not even half as good as me. Be a Sylvan for a change, and not a gear whore, is my advice. }>

Nexus:

Nydeikon - Never got a lot of chances to work with you, though I meant to. Don't think we ever fought in the war, or if we did, it was only in a massive group fight.

Sporial - Already mentioned in your own goodbye.

Herald:

Dahlisyn fully agreed with the idea of leaving Heralds alone, and never once fought in the Inn (with the exception of other people attacking me). Unfortunately, Scion Life left me without much free time to just hang around the Inn and chat once I hero'd. Winning the costume contest was great (Dahlisyn went as a Red Ajah Aes Sedai, which fit her personality quite well). Didn't know any of you all that well. Jashere, hope you enjoyed that gear - it was from a kill, and I figured I was better served by having someone from Herald, who could be of use to me/Scion, get the gear, rather than it being repopped later by a Rager/Warder/etc, since no Felar Scions were on.
Avmenseur, I probably should've just wasted you that one time, and I was tempted to, but I also felt bad for you since I'd already come across the corpse of you that Lohrn had left in the Bar not ten minutes before.

Entropy:

Acallsho - You came after me one time, and I promptly dissuaded you from ever doing that again. (At least that's how I liked to think about it) }>

Scarab:

Who? Do you guys even exist anymore? I really could've used some anti-good help at times, and having another Evil group around would've been nice in general. I'd have rather had Scion as more like Evil-Master with Shadow flavorings, rather than ScionEvil vs the World. I've been a Scarab, they're cool. C'mon, people, roll one up sometime!

Some thoughts on other things:

Wands. Most of my wands I found via totally IC methods, from other players or from exploring/being lucky, during this character's lifetime. I hadn't played a mage past 30 since before the wand changes, and was dreading it, but it wasn't bad at all.

Invokers: I rolled up maybe a week before the Affinity change, and thought about starting over, but I already had too many spells perfected to want to start over. The wonderful thing about an invoker is you never want to delete, because all that work would be wasted. As it is, I nearly finished all 7 paths (with default/old affinity of 5s). I was only missing Immolation (Fireshield 92%) and Improved Invis (Vortex 80something), which I could've easily had, but I just never found the time to drop a few more hours into practicing. That being said, next time around I'd probably just do 5 or 6, with higher affinity. One more thing: Ooze rocks.

Balance:
Sometimes CF is like Rock, Paper, Scissors. There's stuff you are good against, stuff you aren't any better than anyone else against, and stuff that you suck against. What's what, depends on your race/class/cabal, but remember that everyone has their bane, except maybe a smart lich, but that's another debate. The truly l33t are those who are good enough to not only not die against their bane, but to hold their own or even kill the guy. If you think something is overpowered, try playing it, you may find that while it's the Paper to your Rock, someone else's Scissors will cut the living ##### out of it.

On with the logs:

Preface: I missed logging the first half of this fight. I'm in Hamsah, in guild. Skorth (berserker giant warrior, with powers) comes up, decides to go after me by attacking the guildguard. I step out and hit him with grease, then land a few iceshards. He runs to Arkham, and I pursue, despite being a midrank invoker with no shields, let alone bash shields. I think I had maybe Aura for this (no shield/barrier/stoneskin or anything else).

By the way, Skorth, I seem to recall you bitching about nobody ever fighting you one on one. I guess you must think Nightwalkers count in that, if so, screw you.

Anyway here's the fight:

Actually I think I blocked that fight out of my mind And no I don't think Nightwalkers count as an extra person and hate people who do. What happened there is me not realizing you had time to heal and figured I could pick you off when I killed the nightwalker. The Nightwalker fell I came back to bash and realized too late you were fully healed. Well fought.

That which does not kill us,
makes us stronger.

It was a damn close fight, which is why I saved it. Definitely well done, I'd say.

Preface: Some midrank scion tells me that Ooqogar is in the past, so I come after him. He runs to the Recruitment Center, which is a no magic room. I pause to think about what to do, and finally decide to just go in and see how the fight goes, with me fully prepped using a touch spell plus nightwalker, versus a Rager Warrior (who admittedly wasn't fully geared, but I didn't know that until afterward).

Side note: In running and hiding in the room, he gave me time to fully prepare myself to the hilt, which is what won this fight more than anything else.

Immortals - Almost forgot you guys.

Cyradia, thanks for the role contest. I wasn't sure if mine was good enough, but apparently you thought so, which I felt was a vote of confidence, of sorts.

Valguarnera, I wish I'd gotten to have more interactions with you, and I intended to try for your tattoo, but I guess things never worked out that way. If nothing else, thanks for the chance to lead the cabal.

Scarabaeus, I always wish I'd gotten a chance to find out what you were hinting at that time in the Inn. It really perked my interest, since good or bad I knew that it'd prove to be memorable.

Whoever the Imm was that responded to my prayer last night (I'm guessing Thror), thanks. It makes me feel good to hear that my concerns are at least looked into, as opposed to being left wondering if anyone heard, or cared.

Arvam, thanks for holding that contest. I hope I made things more interesting by my participation.

I think that's all the Imms I had anything to do with.

If there's anyone else I've somehow forgotten in all of this, player or imm, I apologize now.

You're welcome to think whatever you want, but what I said to you then in character was true (being a Valgite, I never lied). I didn't care about the sapling, I wanted to kill you, and didn't plan on being tethered to the Chasm or Nightwalker. Thus, I chased you. I did it then, I'd do it again now in a similar situation. It's exactly this sort of reaction by you that's what I'm referring to.

Well what would you like me to do? In character, I was never going to be anything but cocky against Scions, OOC of char I respected a lot of you, including yourself, as enemies. However, being continually insulted isn't going to make me all that happy to deal with you folks. Ironic that I get called a coward for not going through the hassle of heroing the lone leader of a cabal that has more enemies then allies, whereas its considered natural for half of the scions to hang to Dullameh like a kid blanket.

Well that sucks, I always kinda liked knowing you were there. We never were "friends" per say, but I felt I could rely on you for raiding the Village and stuff like that (and hope you knew you could rely on me). Very well played from what I saw and yes, I was there alot more then you knew *chuckle*. This really is a big loss for Scion, that says alot for you (or should).

That Whil guy.

A ride and then some I would say. You honestly wouldn't believe how rare it is I group with people and you were always one of my favorites. The unholy trinity that Dullameh, you, and I formed was great. That is going to be the thing I miss more than anything between the three of us I doubt there was very little we didn't know or couldn't accomplish. If you ever make it back good luck.

Maran: No meaning to dis you, I just totally forgot.

Zardik - only fought you that one time in Arkham, when you had a warlock with you, but I could tell from your tactics that you knew what you were doing.

Tylinn - We fought several times, and you could hold your own. I wish I'd had a chance to show you the tactics I'd learned to deal with tigerclaw, but that'll have to wait until next lifetime Kudos for at least trying to strike up a conversation, and asking/offering me redemption. If the character had come with a different background or mindset, or had different experiences, who knows, but at least you tried, which is more than can be said of many.

Lorimar - You and that paladin (whose name slips my mind) walked right into a trap that one time. We knew you'd go there, and with my tactics your odds of survival were slim at best. My only disappointment is that the Paladin, whose gear lust took you both there in the first place, managed to get away at convulsing.

Uncaballed:

Llohuir: You seemed pretty cool, and I have to give you definite credit for being loner evil, even if you did rank with us a few times (though I honestly don't see you had any choice there), and help fight some common enemies with me. I thought you were good, but I was also pretty wary of you since I'd always figured Mynawk's religion as being Anti-Caballed. Keep up the good work, there needs to be more non-scion evil in the world.

Anyone else I forgot, I apologize, and to anyone I don't reply to here, the same, as I'm leaving now for my flight. See you all on the flip side. I'll be back, it's just a matter of when. }>

yeah we had quite a few fights, starting all the way back when a warlock orangutan was beatin on ya and I jumped in. (mountain storm kick against a shield of flames *wince*) I think I only beat you once, and that was because you tried to jump me while I was with a party. We were fighting in Shadar and you snuck in with improved invis I think, caught us totally by surprise.

I always try to deal square with Tylinn, I tried to get them to give you back your stuff, in case of future encounters. Anyway, I thought you were thoroughly thought out, and a interesting opponent to have.

Tylinn

I will however comment on the whole shitstorm in Thror's forum though, since I was the person (or one of them) that prayed about the logon, because from my point of view, it went like this:

-Dullameh, me, two other scion heros on, plus lowbies, vs Rekuch, we've got the head.

-Dullameh quits.

-Within ten to fifteen minutes, the other scions are gone, and four Battle heroes have shown up.

Sorry, but stuff like that raises a red flag in my mind, and apparently the Imms agreed.

----------

I was one of the Scions on at that time, and I hope you didn't get a bad vibe from my logging out and start to think I was a Rager. I logged off for a bit to go grill some hamburgers, then logged back in as soon as I was done (the Rager clump was on). It seems a lot of people notice my log in/quit times, but if you pay attention to it you will notice that i'll log in and run around for 20 minutes, log out, then before long i'll be on for an hour or so, and log out. Then I may be back on for another 20-30 minutes, then log. Off and on like that, as I no longer am in control of my playing times like I once was. I enjoyed your character a great deal, though a part of that is more than likely just because I enjoy having a skilled invoker running around almost as much as a good healer to tag along with me (so few of those lately). I stopped seeing you much after that Sylvan-Shire incident, which is a shame because you were a solid guy.

Damn... It's too bad to see you go. I enjoyed having a competent invoker around, and I agree with Krivohan, in that there really wasn't much that wasn't known or accomplishable by the three of us. It would have been nice to have the 'trinity' around together for a bit longer. Good luck on your next.
