I remember you always trying, it was not my goal to even try to kill you (not that I could), but out of all the times we fought, got to admit I stuck to my role against the fortress and just avoided you guys. And as you can see I was not one to avoid a fight.

I enjoyed fighting you a lot. That one time when Sayangu sort of "jumped in" with an assassinate was pretty lame, but I believe you when you said that you didn't ask for aid. Still pretty upset about that, Sayangu. :-p

Whenever we fought, though, it seemed like you spellbaned everything I threw at you. I think in one fight it was something like 5 immolates in a row. I wish my felar ranger villager had done that.

Good luck with your next.

Probably had something to do with my 360 hours and my average of about 10 fights or more ever time I logged in. I had spellbane perfected for like the last 150 hours or so. Also when I thirsted it helped quite a bit to. Well played on your end. I trust you are still around?

Man I hate seeing you go. I remember ranking with you in the teens and knew then you were going to be a fine villager. The interview process took forever but you stuck it out. The deaths came and you stuck it out. The long times that went by with no other villagers waking up and you stuck it out. Well done man, well done. After listening to one of your interviews I knew I would be sending my applicants to you next, you were hard on em but produced some good villagers as a result. You helped me rank countless times, taught me paths and never failed to inspire me when needed. You never seemed to be the type to sit and hide all day in the brush which suprised me, as most rangers do. I think your style was more of a no-spec warrior who could camo, snare, and ambush...a hard life for your combo. You will be missed and I hope you have another villager on the way soon.

Well, another good villager bites the dust.

Just for sticking it out, and losing to con in the end, that increases that must respect that I have for any villager. If one deletes, bah, maybe they werent worth the hut space they take up.

Ezrail interviewed me and gave me the reommendation. I thank you for that, and teaching me that much more about being a villager. A few interactions, a couple of times we grouped, all around fun it seemed. Thanks for being there to make it that way.

You were always one of my favorite, after your induction which I believe grogim did, I felt proud since I had interviewed you and he found you worthy. AFter you got a hut I knew you were more than worthy. Stick with this warrior you are playnig now, you will go far and earn much respect.

Ah man, you were a damn good enemy. I don't mean you were challenging, or you spoke to me with witty quips or anything. You had heart, and that is the very top of my list of needed attributes of enemies. I don't care if you can't find your ass with two hands, a flashlight and a search party, if you have the heart to keep with it regardless of overwhelming odds, I'll love you every second of it. That is what you did. We have the head, screw it, Ezrail is going to come, no matter the fact that there's three people to pounce on him and he has about zero chance to actually retrieve let alone live. Alot of people would call it stupid or suicidal, I called it ballsy and fun. You even made it out alive a few times, and as time went on you got more and more clever, having me chase you into snares, learning better tactics. I love watching an enemy grow, makes you feel like you're helping them get better which in turn means better entertainment. While I never really 'feared' you, I alwys enjoyed it when you were around. I knew you weren't going to be one of those people who tries to hide quietly out of the way, waiting for the safe oppurtunities, yet not completely I don't care if you kick the hell out of me either. I would say I look forward meeting you again, sadly I don't plan on having another mortal for awhile. Someday though, someday...

Much sarcasm in you. Not sure how to take this mockery of me. I always knew what I was getting into, even if their would have been 6 invokers waiting, I would try to find a way, just my style. A felar ranger is not suppose to able to hand a warlock invoker his arse. I doubt I made anyone fear me, just a lot of people respect me. I always tried to roleplay with you, but you never seem to care to take the time, even after you immorted. Hopefully you roleplay more with the warlocks.

Alright, I've had a piss poor night and a quite a few drinks, so if this makes no sense, pardon. First of all, my post was no mockery of you what so ever. I truly meant evry word I said. You had heart and courage enough for a dozen people, no matter the circumstances. You grew about every fight, some of them quite clever, and I consider myself pretty knowledgable in CF tactics. You were truly one of my favorite enemies, no BS. As for the RP, truly no offense, but I really didn'r have much to work with. I'd comment on damn, you've got balls, and I'd get basically a damn, had to try in response. I'm not knocking you, anyone who expects amazing RP from every enemy is a fool, just isn't going to happen. Not to say not every enemy can RP, but rather the mix of one person's role and another's won't necassirly mix well together. Onto my sidenote, this is the type of deathpost I like to see. Loook at the pkratio. No offense, and I really mean that, but it pretty much sucks. Alot of people are stuck on that percentage, as if it is a gauge to a character's success. Now I admit I haven't read every reply, but of the ones I have read, not a single one said 'Man, you sucked. Completely useless to battle". Every one I have read has mentioned damn you're brave, you played a damn good rager, etc etc. It says to me regarless of killing people, regardless of shiny eq, you played a damn good character, someone who will be remembered for who they were rather then who they killed. No, a berserker felar ranger will never scare me, but you made me love your character anyways, and that makes the game worth playing too. So yes, I really do hope to face you again as a mortal. If you consistently play characters of that caliber, it will always be a good experience, win or lose

I am glad you clarified, you were the toughest enemy of all I had, and the first note seemed like mockery, when I thought you were oh so impress, You knew tactics well, and I know tactic as well, just to often I chose to ignore tham. I see where you were coming from now. I thought at first you were putting me down, now I see I was wrong.

Well where to start with over 350 hours of playing Ezrail I will leave many many people out but I will try. Just reply to this if I forgot you. This was my third villager, but pretty much my first real villager and first since any of the changes. This was also my first ranger ever. I have been playing since late 1994 and total love cf. I have moved pasted the point were I would ever rage delete a character, and have finally learned that death is a part of cf. I feel others could benefit from this lesson. The best things ezrail ever did was stay active for his whole life. Except for a few days here and there were really life took precedent over cf, this was my main and pretty much only character. This character was made to get into battle and to fight. No really high roleplaying aspiration though I did try to always roleplay. I wish I would have roleplayed the evil aspect of my character better, but I struggled with the rager focusing on mages, yet still being evil and hating the world. I thought this was one of my better played characters. I learned a bunch about fighting with this character. One lesson I learned well is that a ranger is not a warrior and not meant to be, this lesson I learned the hard way. A felar ranger is not the greatest rager combo ever created, but that was why I played it. I knew if I played this character like I should a high pk ratio was impossible. I was shooting for 50% but took to many 3 on 1 deaths defending and retrieving for that. I had so many fights on a daily basis some of you would be shocked. The players I interacted with, I will try to say very little negative because I enjoyed all the fights and roleplaying adventurers I had. I welcome constructive criticisms because I am always try to better both my fighting and my roleplaying.

Immortals: I was not overly concerned with my lack of immeraction, because I really did not seek it, I had two dream sequences which were very cool and probably done by Kastellyn. Any immortals that snooped me I would love to here what I could have done better and what I did well.

Kastellyn: Only spoke with you briefly once, I think you were getting a con quest together for me or perhaps the con quest was part of the gray horn, but either way your kind words about me helping the village meant a lot. I thought I would enter your legends contest knowing I would not win, because my history and background story and role were really not overly detailed or that well thought out.

Grogim: You were always willing to speak, and never hesitated to give advice, but never tried to interfere. I liked that a lot.

Sabiene: Always trying to help. You and Grogim gave me good advice about how to get a hut as well as how to possibly get a con quest. Thanks for the help.

Villagers:

Drahkul: I was disappointed that you deleted, but I understood. We did well together though a felar ranger is not the toughest combo in the game. I thought you were damn tough no matter what others said about you. I new I was going to like you from the first time we talked. I thought the village did well under you, but it was frustrating that a lot of people did not rise from their huts soon after you were made commander.

Brogg: I wish I could have gotten to travel and fight with you. Very well roleplayed at least with me. I know you did not start it, but I used the gather of two items in my interviews as well.

Stampar: Another character I liked, but wondered if you fell off the Earth. You were quite tough as an assassin but often enough we were both regearing. We did not get to roleplay as much as I would have liked but as a rager it is tough to find time to talk.

Zylundak: Another tough bastid, good luck in the rites. You whooped my arse ever duel with them damn maces. Well played I say, and heroing without grouping. Wow.

Ramstin: I wish you were could play more cause you were tough, though I will always remember Jumalde and Boigeran (with Munro) whipped our arses. Oh well we got them enough too. Good luck in the rites.

Jehegicial: I wish I could have learned more from you about being a ranger, but I think I played my ranger different than you did yours. Either way well played. And you were quite right ranger in woods fight very hard, rangers in civilized not so hard.

Urgarg: One of the best roleplayers I have ever interacted with. Like Joushin you are the man. Good luck in the rites. Not much I can say about you here that you do not already know.

Joushin: I did not get to see you fight that much, and you were younger so we did not travel that much, but you are the man and you know why.

Gieldon: Very interesting character. I can tell this is one of your first high level character, but with that said, pretty well done. I know I play aggressive and take chances but even you have me beat.

Kriack: After I found out this was one of your first characters I was very impressed. Very funny, though that poison was torture on groupmates and try to heal up.

Kugnar: Funniest villager. Well roleplayed. I thought you would have a chance in the rites with that disembowel and the whips, but you deleted.

Ozlif: Quite character but very tough. Spear/hand to hand is tough. Good luck in the rites.

Feolin: Well played, pretty tough. Hopefully you will enter the rites. I think you have a good chance.

Sayangu: Not that much interaction with you, wish you would have awoken more.

Theaus: We had some fun adventurers and you helped me hero

Alan, Nwalarf, Wiglaf, Aidamo: Only spoke with each of you briefly

Alfoneas, legedri, khajearh: Not much interaction, though I might have interviewed you both.

Warlocks:

Gherian: Single handedly destroyed my con early in life. I did not realize till later in life that bloodthirsty would help me spellbane area spells. Might have saved my life some. Congrats on the immorting. I could never be an immortal. To much work.

Synboriel(sp?): Damn walrus is tough on a felar ranger rager beserker. You kept me from raid by yourself. Damn water.

Any other warlocks, send me a note. Chasillia got me once I know, parcan we never fought. Hmm I can not think of others.

Scions:

Ghuljun: You got me once, I think playing a lich without zombies is amazing tough especially when there are no scions. Wish you were around more. Well done on just liching and surviving without zombies.

Nexans:

Quezzumpliet: Well roleplayed and very courageous. The nexan I have the most respect for. You would defend no matter what, once ever getting just totally destroyed very quickly. But I have done the same and died just as quickly. I felt you and I were a lot alike except in our roleplaying IC beliefs.

Jumalde: You make me want to play an autumn harvest svirf warrior. I was convinced you were wiglaf, but perhaps just similar fighters. Always gave me fits, but I was always willing to fight, even two or three of ya at times, and almost always not in the wilderness. Ambushing you twice at the senintel is still among by best kills, even though you were fighting 3 of us and killed the other two of us.

Kuceral: Did no roleplaying with you, got you a few times and you got me a few times. You fought well.

Boigeran: No interaction, some fighting, hit quite hard.

Munro: Well roleplayed, but added nothing to fighting, but you were a transmuter, I wish you would have tried to fight at least a little when we had the head.

Urzkoo: Tough bastid I really never stood a chance.

Kozalwaski, Cassougi: Always tough fights.

Marans:

Karun, Rothergian: Always very tough fights, I stood no chance. Only tried to smash the shield and leave, since you were not my enemy, I was yours.

Other names are escaping my, but a healer that always gated to me, mehkoa, and elf that entwined and killed me once.

Tribunal:

Khetopia: We had some good fights, well played

Morrolion: Another I enjoyed fighting

Invoker provicinical: Name escapes me but also got me a few times. Well done.

Warders:

Did not know most of you fought tikniktil a bunch, there was another invoker that tortured me while I was ranking and I finally got my revenge with a snare on night but the name escapes me. Blachniman well deserved from what I could tell.

Empire:

Astillamos: I am glad you heroed I was afraid you would do like the others and sit below 42 to avoid fighting tough ragers and tough paladins, but you didn’t and you have died some, but that is ok. I am usually impressed and trying to lock my in the waygate was a nice trick though you died shortly after though I know not why and I had to find my way through them damn mists.

I cannot remember many others though I know I ranked with a few of you a while ago.

Others:

Vorcalnon: Damn we fought a lot. I was impressed that you kept playing even with vulture/panther and you would keep coming. I was always impressed.

I am leaving many out, bunches of shifters I fought a few times, Hallister, guy with the crocodile.

Anyway I will be back in the fields, already have another little something in the works, we will see how this goes. Playing a rager was a blast. I hope to hear from all of you.

Marcalius, aka

Ezrail, Bevrolmx, Shemlok, Tunvuxis, Wionurgz, and many many others of which I cannot remember.

Not much I can really say, you played the character well I traveled with you just before you heroed, and then fought you. Got ya to flee the first time but my luck ran out when you caught me sitting in the Inn. Enjoyed both fights. Good luck with whatever you roll next.

You did a great job and I had more respect for you than just about any Villager ive seen as Quezz. You had the courage that has been sorely lacking in most of the others. If you had had more experience with rangers you could have been really devastating. I'm sure your next one will be. Again, well done and congratulations on having a real villager. I hope the others who havent been take notice and follow your example in courage.

As you could tell I have played a lot, but rangers never. Next ranger will not be a villager, since I know a fair amount about potions, scrolls, etc, so if get ambushed in the future, not as quezz but in the future, it might be me Loved our discussions.

Definatly not what I wanted to see when browsing the forums. Anytime you loose one of the very few that show up, it sucks. But add on top of that one of the eldest, very well respected...it's devestation. Anyways, I liked your "balls to the wall" style and thought you really added a cool aspect to the Village. I hope you enjoy whatever you play next as much as you seemed to enjoy playing Ezrail. Thanks for the interactions and the interview.

As you see I was old, and since I showed a lot, I die a lot. Good luck with Feolin and you will see me around very soon, maybe in the village maybe not.

I meant the high ranks as a compliment cause you have stuck it out through death, as I die. I have a lot of respect for that continue to come back for more even when getting their ass kicked. I am one that thinks pk ratio is overrated (though I to strive to win every fight).

Very well played, it was a bad thing that our times were different, two snares can be annoying and two ambush deadly...
and yes I belive that we had diferent styles, and the path that you choose, for a ranger, in my opinion is a hard path.

Anyway good luck in your next char.

Grogim: You were always willing to speak, and never hesitated to give advice, but never tried to interfere. I liked that a lot.

Thats the way I like to try and do things. Sometimes cryptic, sometimes very straightforward advice. I have been on the end, as a mortal, of interference and I even deleted a character over it so I police myself strongly on what advice I give and what actions I try to stir up within the village.

I could echo Gherian's sentiments entirely by remarking on your great heart for the battle. It is the singley most important quality for a villager and major egos need not apply. You will fight great, you will win battle but you WILL get ganked by gangs and left nothing and it's the way you deal with that aspect, which makes you a good villager in my book.
I have played three rangers in my time in battle, one was when rangers still had bears and bloodthirst made you hit them and the last two were cloud giants, one berserker and one scout. It is very tough to keep your time in the wilderness high and do all the raiding and defending, which often detracts from your abilities so your right in thinking a rager ranger is very tough to play and keep control of, telling yourself over and over, 'stay in the woods!'
Anyway, very well done on a fine villager and I hope your reincarnate soon if you have not done so already.

Yeah I will probably play another ranger again, and he will not be in battle, though another character probably will since I love battle. But the next ranger will be easy to stay in the woods with. I think you are a good imm and hope you stick it out and go higher places.

You were one of the few ragers I loved to see fight, you hardly ever complained about death, and that was amaizing from all the fights you were in, you get an aplauze from me there. Your rp was respectable, but like you said I wish you would have worked a little more on the evil aspect. To bad you had to leave, I was looking forward to our dual in the rites. I am sure you and I will have a chance to dual again with another life but for now, I want to keep things short and just say, I really enjoyed seeing you with a hut. Its people like you that keep me comming back to the village time after time.

THanks for the kind words I tried. No matter how hard I tried I could not find ways to be more evil and still stay within the village. Perhaps I should have looted more and just acted more evil. In retrospect I should have made the guy nuetral but that did not fit with his role. Good luck tomorrow in the rites.

I was getting a con quest together for you, but I just haven't had the time lately to implement all the things I want to get done on the MUD, so it was most likely going to be in conjunction with the current quest. My apologies for that.

The thing that stood out in my mind the most about Ezrail was the fact that you interviewed probably 90% of the Villagers who got into the Village after you were inducted yourself. You didn't always recommend every applicant, either, and having watched a few of these interviews, it seemed you always put them through the paces. Knowing how hard it can be to conduct interviews like that, your dedication to the betterment of the Village really shone through in that one aspect of the character. You also had a really ballsy attitiude when it came to raids and retrievals, which never hurts.

Good luck with the next one!

The other thing that annoyed me is when people never take the time to speak with applicants so I tried not to do that, but I sometimes have more time than others. No big deal about the con quest, I was ready to move on to something different, though I would have liked to seem the rites, though I doubt I could have won. Anyway I think the imms do a great job. I am not one to complain to often. I just enjoy playing a game that is so great and cost me so little other than my time and dedication.

That first time you killed me in Darsylon I was reading a website while I sat there, unshifted, with no spells up. Not even a CF website. But you were cool about it and just sacced my magic stuff and I thank you. I wanted some revenge but I guess it was not meant to be. Oh well, good job and see you in the fields.

I pondered the first kill and decided I had to take my chance while I could. The second kill I got lucky and I knew you would kill me before long with that gator. I guess you will have to kill my next guy.

I never really interacted with you, other than being on the other side of the ball. (battle vs. nexus) I don't think we ever ended up in the same pk range either. Which in some ways I was happy that happened, because regardless of what was going on or when it was happening if I did a who and the name Ezrail showed up, I knew that shortly after that I would hear Help! Ezrail is raiding the cabal! All I could do was hope you would get disarmed and I could sac your staff. Which I think only happend once... I thought you were a ballsy char, and always heard from those around me the respect they had for you. So in our limited crossings, really well played and good luck. -Juamaniquo

I appreciate your kind words, I sometimes struggle with always wanting to fight, for that is one of the two reason I play (roleplaying the other). The dying aspect to playing a balls to the wall character took me 7 or 8 years of playing to come to grips with, but now I can die over and over and it does not bother me (not sure if that is good or bad). I am sure we will meet again in other lives.

I hated to see you go. You were always around when I was, and always ready to go fight, defend or retrieve. One of the many who helpped me gain my last few titles, which i was very thankful for. You will be missed, and I loved fighting alongside your character. Hope to see another soon. See you in the fields.

...I know how it feels to be getting low on con and being a VIllager myself. It's a hell of a battle but it's a fun one, we didn't interact all that much save for killing some trees and raids and defendings but I liked you all the same. Gotta love them Villagers, keep it up and we'll see you in the fields.

I thought we traveled, ranked, and raided a good bit, we just didnt get to roleplay much. I loved having theaus around, though I know playing a defend is tough and sometimes unrewarding. Hopefully ou hero if you have not already.

I thought you did a really good job as an evil ranger. I almost always checked certain areas as soon as I saw you were on because it is very hard to not rank as an evil ranger at lower levels in areas that I would protect. Once you became a villager though, I never really caught you defiling. Good luck on your next.

I still defiled, but since I had everything perfected and no ranking to do, less reason to defile. It was not the defiling I enjoyed, just a means to an end. Again the evil aspect of my character, while I thought I did an ok job, would be the one part I would like to have play up more. Good luck as an immort.
