I really wanted to play Habdazzle to age-death, but only playing like 3 or 4 hours a week is just something I’m not ok with. My work has picked up considerably, so it’s time to walk away for a while.
Role:
Habdazzle was born into a magical family in Hillcrest. Her parents, brothers, and sisters could all use magic and were quite adept at it. Habdazzle had no magical talent what-so-ever. She was also an albino and undersized, even for a gnome. This led to Habdazzle always being an outcast, even amongst her own people. She was bullied and hurt a lot while young, and this had a huge impact on her. She never felt she belonged anywhere.
She was so used to people overlooking her and judging her based on her size, she was always on the defensive. Usually, I would talk about size within the first two sentences of meeting someone. This was very intentional, because to Habdazzle, it’s what she just assumed people were thinking.
She went out into the world to make a name for herself. She always had an underdog mentality. Undersized in every way, she had to struggle to prove herself. When she was accepted into the Tower of Sorcery (just by the normal quest) it meant so so much to her, because she finally got acceptance. This led to her having more of an affinity towards magical people. I would go out of my way to help mages rank or gather wands, because she felt she owed it.
She also had a huge affinity for any gnome or Svirf because obviously, they were undersized in a world that she saw belonging to “big-folkâ€. She would help any Svirf or gnome she came across. It was her duty to protect or guide other small-folk. I would usually try to talk to them as soon as they came into PK range. I helped a lot of gnomes and svirfs rank and gather eq. I was glad to do so, and so was Habdazzle.
Still, I was playing a true neutral character, so I tried not to be too evil or good. I was also a Nalasul follower, so there was an element of untrustworthiness to Habdazzle, and that was intentional. I might turn on someone at any time, but to be honest, I rarely did. I wanted to be more ruthless and cold-hearted, but that goes very much against my nature, so I struggled with that. However, I did do a few cool things (I.E. Green Lair. Lol Thanks Ysforgul!) And I tried to keep things a little rocky between Habdazzle and all factions. No one could trust her fully, so I didn’t fail too hard in that regard.
As for bounty hunter, the plan was to eventually overthrow the guild and become something of a kingpin in the bounty hunter game. Sadly, getting kills was more difficult than I thought. LOL. The build was solid, but landing the kills wasn’t the easiest thing in the world. Especially with most of the bounties being tough foes. Narra, Bugglin, that elf marshall, etc. These people weren’t exactly going down easy. I did have a bunch of fun though, and I’m happy I gave it a shot. HUGE thank you to which ever IMM gave me the chance at being a bounty hunter and for having that talk.
Build:
The build was gnome warrior Sword/Hand STSF/Space. I got most of the edges I wanted rather easily (which makes me think the edge system isn’t all that bad really. I mean I got a bunch of edges on a non-caballed warrior. I was very surprised I got as many as I did) and with the right edges, the gnome warrior really shined. I had about 1200 hps which meant even if I took a nasty round or 2, I was still in the fight. I’m sure I surprised a good number of people with that.
Now… Having said some praises for gnome warrior…. That crushing vuln SUCKS!!! It is extremely noticeable. Yes, for pk, but also for exploring and PVE in general. It’s something you just can’t really do much about. Dam redux helps a lot, sure, but that just makes it somewhat manageable. Having said that, imagine having to fight a Ram with a bounty on their head. Lol. It sucked!
Goodbyes:
Nalasul - Thank you Lady Nalasul for the time. I really enjoyed learning more about your religion, and you seem like a super fun IMM to follow. I really did enjoy my take on your religion. I was playing the underdog path more than the shadowy liar path, but I think it worked ok. I would have liked more time to give it a go.
Xiqoanna - Thank you for the exploring and the times just chilling. I really wish I had more time to play when you were around. Your companionship meant a lot.
Ysforgul - That time in the Green Lair was priceless! Habdazzle had a soft spot for the underdog, and with so many Maran running around, I knew I needed to help you. So when I saw the confusion, calling you in was a no-brainer. Now, I had no idea you’d be as effective as you were, but it’s not surprising knowing the player behind the character. Take care.
Current High Herald - Man I’m so bad with names. I forget yours exactly. Imogrezio maybe? Anyways, thank you for the travels and the conversation. As I’ve said recently: the game is so much better with an active and well-played Herald or Heralds. You add something special to the game that is hard to describe. Anyways, kudos.
Dhrak - You were awesome. Plain and simple. And when you chose not to gang me down with Shapamatic, I think it showed something great about the player behind the character.
Narra - You’re really great. Many Scion shapeshifters with your combo would just be muder-all kill machines, but you really have solid RP and sportsmanship that I find refreshing. Thanks for the talks and the info you gave me. Rock on.
Targung - Prince! Heheh. Thanks for the help and it was fun working with you some. You seem to have help these days, so you don’t need me anymore. Take care.
I interacted with others, but my brain is bad. If I missed you, drop a reply and I’ll respond.
Take care, and I’ll see you in the fields someday soon I’m sure.

Habdazzle had a fun personality.
It was always nice when our times lined up since we were both interested in exploring and our builds went well together.
Looking forward to your next one.

Hey!
I felt for you and you don't know how many times I'd fly by you and let you run and do your thing, because I really wanted you to succeed. I've placed bounties on Fort peeps for you to collect. I gave you a couple of fights to make it clear that it's pointless to try to kill me.
Really loved the angle you took, but you should've been in some cabal, probably battle, to have a chance to kill those on a bounty list. Swords are not really great on a gnome either, so there's that. Anyhow, enjoyed your run and you were great for the game, so GLWYN!

Spear was okay, but might have done better with flail/whip.
I did autumn and stsf which felt really good with daggers.

I've never had a dagger spec hero, and to be honest, I'm not familiar with playing a dagger spec in general. Still, I think I get the general idea. Thanks again.
