At 12 o'clock AM, Day of the Great Gods, 19th of the Month of the Grand Struggle
on the Theran calendar Inverox perished, never to return.

I liked you as you came across as a "dark gentleman" who was polite when needed be but could always tell that you were always looking out for yourself. You did it politely and I wish I could have tried to help you out more but it seemed when we were both on, the scions would come out of the wood-works and the balance would tip against you.

I’m sorry you couldn’t be around longer Inverox, I really liked what I saw of you, and the times we did get to interact I really enjoyed. I anticipated some really fun dynamics and banter from a dreadlord smith. AP is really hard, and I never have the stomach to stay in Empire long, so I get it.

I know what you mean. I was looking forward to some fights and some heated conversations together. I did learn a lot with this character and I think I'll be able to make a much stronger A-P in the future because of my experiences here. You keep on truckin, I think you're doing a pretty fair job as commander.

Great character! You definitely got stronger as time went on. I think we were about even in our fights. I loved that you exuded confidence whether you won or lost. You totally came across as an evil bastard without appearing whiny or gloating.

I loved to hate Merrol and all dwarves that I fought because
of natural magic resist, bless, gear saves and eyes of the
flame in your case, my spells were almost useless.  I remember
hitting a mob for oblits and only decimating you with Iceball.
 Also the fact that I typically couldn't curse nor blind you
even though I took both edges to improve at such.  Lots of
good fights there. 

You were a stand up enemy and gutsy.  A good example of what a
dwarf maran should be.  Yet, you did give me the most of my
charges. I think I collected 9 from you overall.  I had my
count at, me killing you twice and you killing me between 4
and 6 and countless times you or I would get away.

Keep on trucking.

What can I say.  This was my first imperial Black, first A-P
past 30, first of a lot of things.  I must say that it was
horrifying.  My pk range was full of competent opponents
throughout my entire life which made getting any pks very
difficult.  I don't think I passed 10 pks, maybe even 5 in my
life.  The last few that I did land yielded 0 charges when I
only needed two or three more for my first control.. Ugh, very
disheartening.

In my opinion, the biggest disadvantage of an A-P is the
absence of the ability to dodge.  I can't count the amount of
times that I got slaughtered fighting people that I should
have torn through if I was a warrior, assassin, or thief.  The
spells didn't typically make up for this unless I could get
someone slept but with most enemies having spellbane or eyes
of the flame that was tough. 

I tried to make up for the lack of dodge with damage reduction
but quickly realized that I didn't know enough and with my
tanking abilities wasn't going to be able to acquire a
reliable source of barrier because of that.

Having said all of that, the reason I called it quits was that
I just lost the drive to log in and either "try to"
avoid pk, or try to retrieve the codex.  I felt like a human
whipping boy, with the name Dread Lord.


Thror, Thanks for the chance at your religion.  It really felt
like a big accomplishment getting to be an apprentice.  I was
hoping to continue learning more but it will have to be on
another occasion.

Ahrem G'un Logia the searing whisper (Immortal)  Thanks a lot
for that interaction.  That was the first one like I'd
encountered.  I've tried to join in with mob interaction a few
times but never been the object of it before.  It was another
Highlight of Inverox's life and the next three or four pks I
got, I tried to RP out tracing runes on the corpses but once I
did get unholy blessing my pk prowess began it's slow decline
and run of really poor timing.

Kurbrawn, Thanks a lot for the chance at Dread Lord. Sorry I
couldn't push it out till con death.

Empire, Wow, you got some really, really tough odds right now.
 Those pk competent people who are looking for lots of enemies
should roll a black.

Anyway, this was a tough and tedious char but I learned a lot
and overall had a good time doing it.  Thanks to all the Imms
who put time into this game and interacting with the
playerbase.

Sorry to see this. I thought you were competent but you chose
a difficult class combination and bad enemy numbers. Take the
oath again. :P

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I will come back at some
point.  I do like the Imperial dynamic and enjoyed our
interactions when they were matching up.

I loved that you were always looking for action. I felt for
you though. I just seemed to have your number. I loved the
aggressiveness. Bought your PBF. What'd you get for a RC win?
Wasn't the barrier spell I assume. I hope it was really cool
else im sure it was 
kind of tough to see APs of the past get that for a win. 

My lord we had some close fights.  I pulled every trick I
could think of out of the book to try and beat you but never
landed that final hit, always convulsing.  I really wanted to
know if you had that feign health edge so that I'd know if I
was close or not.  Not being able to sleep you, or cast any
spells at you, meant that I had virtually no chance of killing
you. 

Btw, I never landed a killing cleave on anyone in pk and
thanks a lot for the PBF, I was going to pick it up but this
is a good present.  

Oh, and I have no idea what I got from role contest. I just
may not be very observant.  

Early one we had some FUN fights. After eyes of flame though,
well it wasn't such an even match. I did love how you kept at
it, and eventually you would have gotten me cold. I could just
feel it coming. I had recently become maybe worth a charge or
two as well man.
Hehe. It was always fun, even when I died. GLWYN.
Seriously, I truly liked this guy. I thought empire was going
to get an upswing by now and you would have been rolling in
corpses.

Wait a minute, you were supposed to stay dread lord until
after my next character was working his way up through
imperial ranks! You weasel! Where's my cool mentor gonna come
from now?!?!? :) Hehehe really it'll be time for a break when
Duvam's passes. 

There were a few really good ones that we had but the last few
were the most annoying.  That conjurer swooping in and waking
you up, not once but twice... I could have thrown something. 
Once you got abs and shields, I didn't have much of a chance
without spelling you up. You never know, maybe I'll have
another char to be your mentor at some point.

Quite sorry to see this, but I understand it. Playing a doomed
character to con death isn't for everyone. I always felt this
was the other character who best understood what I was going
through, but I felt you were somewhat stronger as a character.
I remembered watching you fight and being amazed that it
lasted more than four or five rounds. You were often more
determined to try and force out a victory, whereas I had
learned early on that without ideal conditions it wasn't going
to happen and generally focused on trying to escape alive.

On the one hand I think you had it a little easier with more
in-cabal support and hitpoints, but on the other hand I had
the luxury of staying on duty and waiting for the coast to
clear before I made a move, since after a couple of kills the
fortress stopped killing me while I was on duty. Sitting at
the palace on the other hand wasn't going to do you any
favours.

God yes. Also feeling you on the eyes/spellbane thing. And
chameleon, volley, etc. I have a lot to say about the class
but I think I'll save it for another post.

Good character, I enjoyed the interactions, made for a richer
experience playing Eldrinoth. Hope to see you in the fields
again, GLWYN

You're right, I enjoyed the fights for the most part. Even
when I was losing fairly often, if I thought there was a
better than avg chance, I was jumping in there.  My hp wasn't
all that high, I think 750 ish with gear but like I said, I
always tried to fight with as much dam reduction as I could. 
FWIW I was thinking of either Tribunal or Empire because my
role was so centered on Purity in Order.  

Tribby powers are suited to/advantageous to an A-P much more
than Empire in my opinion.  If you had gotten in earlier and
pushed out some hours at low ranks, you could have been a sick
Vindy, since you had your wands.  GLWYN too, and you'll see me
soon enough.

And as our numbers rise, so do they too fall. Sad to see this,
would have liked to see what we could have accomplished
together. But, my playtimes are very very scarce right now as
I am working 80 hours a week and just had my third child.
Things should improve at my new job soon and my playtimes
should increase. Good luck with your next!

I recall the times where I was putting in crazy hours and it
wasn't fun at all.  

Healers are a game changer though and I also would have liked
to have had you with me more often.  I look forward to seeing
how your char plays out from my own perspective.  Good luck to
