Chapter 4

-Lasuira is an orphaned half drow born in South Darien

-She wasn't trusted because of what she is, so her upbringing was
tough. She made ends meet by doing various chores and work
throughout the village. She slept in the stables.

-Orcs raided the settlement. A voice guided her to a sword where she
tried to fight the orc. A Paladin(Maran) arrived in time with squires in
tow to defeat the raiding party

-Was taken to Voralian and joined the Paladins guild. Her training,
equipment and the like was all taken care of by him.

Goals

-Join the Fortress as a Squire. Become a Maran one day

-Seek out a diety. Lasuira was born under the star of Mercy. Azorinne
seems to be her path.

Personality

-She's kind. Always wants to help others.

-She's determined. She's willing to fight against evil.

-She's happy enjoying a simple life, simple food, a simple mat to
sleep on.

Role

Chapter 3

After the battle, the knights who rescued the town took Lasuira to
Voralian. The man who rescued her sensed a goodly force in her,
similar to many in his guild. He talked with the girl, in which he
uncovered her hearing a voice urging her to fight. This solidfied his
thoughts and convinced Lasuira to become a paladin. He paid her
guild fees and saw to her basic gear, and board within the guild.

Years passed and the girl matured, becoming a young woman. The
Paladin would still come by a check on her. During said times, he
would discover that she did not sleep on the fine beds, but instead
preferred a straw mat. Her face always seemed to be covered in some
sort of dirt or grime, and when asked, she explained it was probably
from helping a person do some sort of chore. She always continued to
carry herself like the poor, oprhan girl he discovered.

Still, even in the Guild of Paladins, her life was not made easy. Her
instructors pushed her harder then others, and the other cadets often
joked about her or ignored her since many of them came from rich,
noble houses. She always smiled and met such hardships with
determination. Determination that would lead her to her final steps
through the Academy. The final steps of becoming a paladin, save one
measure left, that of a diety to pray too.

Chapter 2

As if guided by instinct, Lasuira took the sword in her hands, too
heavy for her to hold with one, she gripped it with two. Something
about the way she held the sword felt right to her. The fire began to
rage through the smithy forcing her to escape the building, coughing
and hacking from the smoke as she exited, she found herself face to
face with the orc, a few goblins behind him, grinning and licking their
chops at more prey.

Lasuira growled, tightening the grip on her sword and much to her
embarrasment, the raiders laughed in amusement. Righteous anger
swelled in her chest and she lept forward striking a glancing blow
against the orc. His laughter ended as he saw the small wound form,
foul, red blowing dripping from it. He roared swatting her with his
mailed gauntlet, knocking Lasuira to the ground.

She winced in pain "Get up. Get up Lasuira" the voice called out to
her. She clambered to her feet, determination etched in a scowl
across her face. She charged again, this time to be easily parried. Her
untrained strikes were feeble and the orc only seemed to laugh more.
As the orc raised his serrated blade to strike the girl down, a cry broke
through the sky, like a powerful bird and suddenly a man in gleaming
armor and a brilliant silver blade appeared between the two. His
sword lit with fire as he struck down the orc. The goblins shrieked in
fear but as they turned, soldiers of all goodly sorts were there to
meet them, to deal with the evil that had come to the village.

Exhaustion washed over the girl and she fainted, gripping the sword
tightly as she did.

Chapter 1

Lasuira was an orphan girl. Her mother, a human, died when she was
very young, her father some dark elf she never met. Her upbringing
was not easy. The people of South Darien looked at her with suscipion
and disgust due to her dark elf blood. While the people did not care
for her, they weren't going to just let her starve to death or have no
place to sleep.

She was given all sorts of manual labor to help out with, from cleaning
stables to washing pans as a way to make enough coin to feed herself,
and even then it was barely enough. Her home was the stables, and
her bed a straw mat, worn and old.

Her daily life was mostly just doing chores to survive while enduring
the ridicule and cruel antics of the other children. The children often
called her dumb and stupid, made fun of her having no parents, and
enjoying teasing her about sleeping with the horses and pigs. Her life
was rough, but every day she woke smiling, happy to be alive. She
told herself she had food and a place to lay her head, and work.
Unknown to her, her life was about to change.

Thera has always been a dangerous place. Imperial Black Mages
stealing people in the night for whatever dark experiments they
worked, Outlander bandits setting fires as they ransacked merchants
all in the name of freedom, and orcs and goblins who simply enjoyed
the delight of raiding and pillaging.

South Darien was mostly a peaceful settlement, not close to
strongholds of evil creatures and men, but that did not make it safe.
One night, in its darkest moment, a band of goblins led by a single orc
attacked the homestead. The guards at the gate were no match for
the vile creatures who were at their strongest in the blanket of
darkness. Fires spread through the town, cries of panic filled the night
air, men and women were killed just for sport.

Lasuira heard the commotion, waking her sleepy form from her straw
mat, she looked outside of the stables to see the chaos. Spotting
goblins heading to the stables, she slipped out in the cover of
darkness, her own keen eyes and quiet steps helping guide her
through the town unnoticed. As she began skirting past the enflamed
homes and buildings a gentle voice called out to her.

"Here. In here, Lasuira."

The young girl entered the burning smithy without so much a
thought, beckoned by the voice.

"Here. Over here, Lasuira."

The voice directed her. Laying upon the ground was a simple steel
sword, nothing special about it, just basic and mudane, but forged
well enough for combat.

"Take. Take it, Lasuira. Fight. I am with you."
