Chapter 3

As Jesseny rises through the ranks of the mighty Empire, she is discovering how
much fighting she has to do. The Empire has many enemies, naturally there would
be resistance, as they are trying to spread Civilization to the entirety of Thera.
She's never had to do so much fighting, constantly being assaulted by the Outlander
and Fortress, and even the Village.

By now, she has led several war parties to retrieve the Codex, always successfully.
Her natural talent to inspire and weave with her voice has proven very useful to
all of the sects. First, they will learn to love her for it, then they will learn
to depend on her for it. Always putting her at the front of the pack for promotions
and eventually Empress.

Chapter 2

Jesseny's mother passed when she was in her teens. Iyagi knew there was something
wrong with her daughter and grabbed her as she knocked over a burning lantern,
trying to kill them both. Jesseny escaped by letting out such a fierce scream it
broke her mother's fingers, and breaking the grip. That's when Jesseny discovered
the power in her voice. She escaped, letting her mother burn as she stood outside
listening to the screams before calling for any help. She acted the part of the
victim, and was ironically taken in by the salesman's sister. Maybe the sister
felt indebted for allowing her brother to commit such a dastardly deed, maybe
she didn't know. Jesseny earned her way by cleaning, and taking singing lessons
on the side.

Chapter 1

Jesseny's wood-elven mother, Iyagi, was visited by a traveling salesman and his
sister as was customary to host. They stayed several nights and the salesman
became infatuated with her mother. Her mother paid him no mind and hardly noticed
the growing lust as she herself was infatuated with a man she met at the park.
The man she loved at the park never made any move and he was in love with someone
else. Jesseny's mother was incredibly hospitable and the salesman took it as
an invitation. When Iyagi said no, he forcefully took what he wanted, beating
her and disfiguring her in the process so no man would want her again. Jesseny
was born nine month's later, unwanted and a reminder of the horrors Iyagi had
faced. On top of it all, the child birth was incredibly horrendous, and left
Iyagi crippled and deaf. The town came to their aid until just after Jesseny
was old enough to care for her mother, say, about five years old, the town quickly
forgot them and left them alone. Jesseny's first years were filled with love
for her mother which quickly grew into hate, envy, and disdain. She resonates
more with her father who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
