Aubrasz the Master of Ice
DescriptionLooking at this figure, one can not help but think that there is something off about him by the way he carries himself. An odd appearance of bone white scales gradated into deep crimson red cover his tall lanky body which is unusual for those of his kind. His narrow slit eyes are golden in color with a red iris, and the scales around his eyes are stained black with ichor. The same black stains can also be seen starting at his wrist and extending down to his claws. His body is thin and lanky, as it is clear he has never trained in any physical manner as it lacks muscle. His garments appear to be an assortment of different things, with strange symbols and arcane runes crudely stitched into them. An odor of death and decay emanates from the clothing, as several stains of blood and muck can be seen upon the hem. A string of bones dangles down from his belt, decaying flesh still clinging to parts.

RoleChapter 13 The path becomes clear (Cont) Added Sun Jan 8 08:41:44 2023 at level 27:Knowing Gralker lusted for magic like Aubrasz, Aubrasz told him that he would accept his 'gift' of hope within the Consortium. Upon meeting Gralker there, Aubrasz was given the magical Lord's wand by the saurian of Sra. While it pulsed with magical essence which Aubrasz would drain, the symbol of hope which Gralker called it was worthless. Yet this fools ideas would be the second key for Aubrasz gaining power. As Aubrasz continued to stroke Gralker's ego about the magic which he had learned, he pushed more and more about how he could guarantee Gralker would forever be remembered in Thera. As they spoke within the Consortium, Aubrasz spoke of how he wished one of the tomes which could be obtained. Granted Aubrasz could obtain such on his own, it would be oh so much more delicious to be given such a thing by Sra.
As if not an issue Gralker not only provided Aubrasz a silver tome, he purchased it with his own funds. The fool! For this was the final item which Aubrasz sought to provide to Morius. An item which is uniquely in magical significance. For the tome tapes directly into the Aether and burrows through the veil to allow one on this plane to gain greater knowledge of such. A path to power within magic, truly a great significance. Though as Aubrasz held the tome in his hands, he also mused how this one item also fit all three request of the Lord Morius. It was freely given to him by Gralker of Sra, granted to stroke his own ego. As well, the tome in the hands of one not blessed by magic would be completely worthless. Thus showing those who are in turn worthless in Aubrasz goals to shatter the veil. And finally, in the hands of those true to magic it would grant them greater power and understanding.
In an attempt to hold true to his promise of making sure Gralker would never be forgotten, Aubrasz called out to Morius to witness such. To have Gralker witness the birth of a new soul within the Eternal night whom would bring Weh to the world they loved. Yet it would not be this night, but Aubrasz promised the world would know the name of Gralker in the end, such is only fitting for them to know the role of Sra in the destruction.

RoleChapter 12 The path becomes clear Added Sun Jan 8 08:40:03 2023 at level 27:Within the darkness a whisper finally revealed itself, though it was different from all the other whispers which had always spoken to Aubrasz. This one while smelled of Weh, also smelled of this plane and had a presence which awed Aubrasz. The one named Morius spoke to Aubrasz and acknowledged his path seeking the Eternal night of Scions, and reveled in the idea of the veil being destroyed. To know so much death (Weh) would be unleased upon the populous, such things thrilled both.
Aubrasz was given a task then to prove his worthiness and dedication to his goals. He must first obtain an item given voluntarily to him by a Saurian of the Sra. Then he also must obtain an object that I considered to be unique magical significance. And finally he must obtain something that he considers completely worthless.
Given thought to these things, his hunger for this power spurred him into action. Hunting down the scent of Gralker who was a saurian of Sra, he soon tracked him down to the Inn where he conversed with others. As they bantered, Aubrasz listed with disgust as they spoke of charity and hope. What good was such things, when true power could be just taken by any strong and dedicated enough. However the views of this fool Gralker would be enough to obtain all that he ever wished. As Gralker spoke, Aubrasz asked him then what would he give to someone like himself? There was a chuckle from both Gralker and those in attendance, yet Gralker gave Aubrasz an invitation from the Empress. Worthless in many ways, it was gold in Aubrasz hands as it was the opening which he needed to power.
Knowing that Gralker was only showing such in front of the others, Aubrasz sought to separate him from any other eyes so that he may truly push his goals. Speaking directly with Gralker he asked the fool of Sra what thing to him would represent hope. Gralker perked up at this and soon began to vomit their ideas upon Aubrasz and pine about those who have passed on. Aubrasz endured such and pushed Gralker about what item would mean hope to him, and he finally said that he had something which he would give to Aubrasz to show such. Aubrasz knew he had him now, for he played to his ego as Gralker went on and on about wanting to be remembered when he finally embraced Weh.

RoleChapter 10 Truth of Weh Added Thu Dec 29 21:06:15 2022 at level 20:Weh has ever been present in Aubrasz life, as it is the only thing that has never shunned him. If anything, it has always embraced him and made him feel whole. It would coarse through his body as he would feel the essence of his prey flow from their corpse into his hungry soul. Yet there was always a tug when he pulled at Weh, as if there was something blocking him from pulling at the power which he craved.
As Aubrasz studied the arcane arts further and began to understand the truth of Thera, he came to understand that of the veil. Though who placed it there, he is unsure though he knows that it imprisons great power that someone wishes to keep from hands like his. While studying such, there were a few from the Outlanders who approached Aubrasz and tried to influence him with promises of all the Weh he wished. They claimed that he could be a Reaver of souls and destroy till his heart was content. Yet there were limits they would tell him, and would not allow him to devower ALL life and absorbed the true Weh of Thera.
Pathetic fools, to limit one self and think anything is sacred! His brood had thought such things were sacred and when it did not turn out as they wished, they tossed them aside. So be it! He would strip this world of everything to the last drop, to embrace Weh and the sweet whispers which talk to him in the darkness. Promising him true power should he tear asunder the veil which imprison them in a plane of shadows.

RoleChapter 8 Rebirth into Weh Added Sat Dec 17 09:00:11 2022 at level 1:Standing there with his mother at his feet, he crouched down to stare deep into her eyes. Grasping at her own throat, a look of fear and surprise flashed across her face as she gurgled to make a sound. Looking up to her son, there was a pleading look as she reached out with one claw but Aubrasz simply sat there watching. Waiting for that exact moment when his mother would take her last breath and then move no more. Closing his eyes, Aubrasz inhaled a deep breath and took in the iron smell of the room. He could feel the warmth of the blood as it spread across the floor and over his claws.
A surge of power raced through him both a mixture of pleasure and pain which caused his body to spasm and lock up. He could hear the blood rushing through his body, feel his heart pounding loudly in his chest like the drums around the fire. Never before had he experienced such a feeling, yet he longed for it. He craved it and he knew finally what he had been missing in his life. The whispers had not lied to him about this, which made him wonder what else they were truthful about. What else did they know and what other promises could be obtained? Where once he had no power, he could now feel the arcane flow through him. And this power felt amazing.
As Aubrasz opened his eyes, the blood around him began to bubble and swirl which surprised him but did not cause any alarm. As he intently watched the blood swirl and congeal, it soon formed into a small lump and then into an eye. Looking up at Aubrasz, he knew this was connected to that of the whispers and was the first time he had any proof it was something greater then just in his head. Sickly sweet the whispers came, praising him for bein strong enough to embrace the Weh. And more so, the path of true power was now open to him. A path which he had been blessed to walk, a path in which was whispered to him that he must break the veil between the worlds.
Flood the world in Weh and Darkness, for it shall unleash a flood of the arcane to sate his hunger. Release those whispers which have been sealed behind the veil, and all this power and more shall be his.

RoleChapter 7 The sacrifice Added Sat Dec 17 08:59:31 2022 at level 1:The small acts of Weh at first had been enough to sate his thirst and curiosity, filling the void which he felt within his soul. Yet now his hunger had grown having tasted it, and he needed more. He needed something grander then the small mammals and creatures found within the surrounding swamps. For while their essence was delightful, there was something bland about their soul as if it lacked something.
The whispers pulled upon this and told him of how the more evolved and intelligent a species became, the more nourishing their soul would be. And so slowly the whispers eroded at Aubrasz sense of morality, bending his natural predatorial instincts of survival into believing it was his true purpose. He truly wanted to feel the Weh pour forth from the vessel, to embrace that primal connection to the Aether and watch as the life dimed in its eyes.
But who would have this honor? The honor of being the one to show him the path truly dedicated to the Weh? It was indeed a great honor the whispers told him, and he must choose wisely to give it great importance. Such an act was intimate and personal, and he would feel disgusted if his first taste of true Weh and Death was of someone below his station. As Aubrasz mulled over who would be given such an honor, the whispers placed a simple name in his ear. A name which caused him to pause and a look of joy lit in his eyes. Yes, yes, this would be the perfect soul. The one who had given him life shall once again give him HER life. Jyasillas would have the honors to embrace Weh and truly give her son everything which she had promised.
Once committed to such, Aubrasz wasted little time. In his younger days he was impulsive and given to his emotions driven by the hunger within him. As his mother came to bring him his meal upon the very night he made the decision, he turned upon her and placed her own ceremonial dagger into the soft spot under her throat. Oh how the blood rushed forth and coated her scales, now giving her the same appearance of Aubrasz as her white scales now stained red.

RoleChapter 6 Aubrasz Blightscale Added Sat Dec 17 08:58:51 2022 at level 1:Once said to be the future hope of the village and heir to the Brightscale line, Aubrasz had been given the nickname of Blightscale for his coloration. He was an odd Saurian for there had always seemed to be something "off" about him and how he interacted with those of the village. In the early years, the villagers just tired to ignore these things thinking it was a youths imagination due to his isolation. However it did not help his case as he always spoke of seeing 'beings' and hearing voices which no one else could The villagers would mock him and his mother still protective of him would only isolate him more and more from the public. This only made Aubrasz more recluse and he started to question himself about his own sanity as he grew. Yet he heard what they said about him, though it did not bother him. The voices had always told him that the world would be jealous of his gifts, though what gifts he did not know.
In isolation, Aubrasz started to become more and more obsessed with death as it was the only thing which he could relate to. Weh had always been taboo among the village and many turned a blind eye to it, much like they did to Aubrasz. This only enticed young Aubrasz more and more, pushing him to embrace that which others feared. Seeking the Weh in all things, he could feel the essence and power drain from the creatures and into his own soul.
Yet the whispers comforted him and sought to praise him for his actions. Guiding and pushing him further and harder towards that of the Weh. It was only a matter of time that the true goal and sacrifice would be born into the mind of Aubrasz, and he would truly be born into this world of death and magic.

RoleChapter 5 Birth of Blightscale Added Sat Dec 17 08:57:48 2022 at level 1:While just a few days ago it was a joyous time of excitement, the mood now was of trepidation and caution. The brief show of joy when it was heard the egg had been recovered was quickly tempered by a more somber mood when the egg was actually seen. Jyasillas walked with determination and poise as it was her egg, an egg of Sra and under the harvest moon the heir would be hatched. Gently placing the crimson streaked egg upon the nest before the altar, the lingering smell remained of the swamp. Yet Jyasillas tried to convivence herself it was just the smell upon her garments and that most of it was in her head.
The celebration and rituals continued as was planned, even with the now somber mood filling the air. A low soft beat of drums starting up as the sun approached the horizon, with the last dying light falling upon the apex of the altar. In the twilight dusk, the drums began to slowly rise in volume as their primal beat seemed to whip the villagers into a frenzy. Gone was the fear for this was a time to celebrate the birth of another Brightscale. Several Saurians in ceremonial garb danced wildly around the fire which blazed before the altar. A low chant matching that of the drums, yet there was another sound buried deep within their chants. It was as if something was slightly off beat, causing an itch or irritation where one could not scratch. But only a few seemed to notice it, chief among them Jyasillas. However this minor irritation would not stop her from this moment, for it was years in the making.
As the harvest moon crested the tree line, the drums came to a sharp crescendo and then a dead stop into silence. Jyasillas stood and took her place behind her egg and raised high an ivory knife, giving an offering to the Sra and gods to bless her heir. With all eyes upon her, she brought down her knife to pierce the egg shell to give release to her spawn within. As the knife dug into the shell, a wail pierced the night somewhere deep within the swamp. The egg began to shatter along the crimson lines which streaked across its surface, with black ichor oozing forth and the smell of death from within. Fearing her spawn had not survived its ordeal within he swamp, Jyasillas began to claw away at the shell to get a whatever was inside.
As the shell was peeled away, there laid upon the altar was a newborn Saurian with its chest rising and falling as it was still alive. Yet Jyasillas gave out a cry for what she saw chilled her to her soul. Unlike those of the Brightscale line, this spawn did not have the mirror white scales like she did. Instead his scales were a dull white which gradated into a deep crimson in color towards the tips. There was black ichor stains around his eyes and at the tips of his claws. As his eyes opened, everyone gasped as golden eyes with a crimson red iris looked out directly at everyone.

RoleChapter 4 Recovery of the Egg Added Sat Dec 17 08:56:41 2022 at level 1:Splashing through the waters, Saruzk trudged with heavy chains around his neck and waist under the watchful eye of the villagers. Sunken eyes franticly searched the swamp for where he had left the egg, knowing that his life now depending upon its retrieval. For the last two days he had lead the villagers back and forth in this very location, unable to find any signs that anyone had ever been in the area. Yet today crossing the very path which he had taken before now seemed different. Something felt wrong and the air was filled with the smell of rot and decay. But there now half covered in the muck was the egg! Falling to his knees he wept with his head hanging down. Saruzk knew he had been at this very location the past day and the egg had not been there before, yet he could not explain it. Nor did the villagers seem to care, for now they had their egg back.
Rushing forth Jyasillas Brightscale hissed at all who were near her egg, not wishing to let it from her possession anymore. Though as she approached it, her brisk pace faltered and she came up short of the egg. Stared down at it, the once pristine white egg shell was now a dull off-white in color and more troubling was that there were red veins streaked across it. Jyasillas attempted to clean the egg as best she could, yet it would not come off. The stench of the swamp and decay seemed to almost emanate from the egg, and nausea seemed to fill her stomach.
What had they done to her egg? However with the Harvest moon set to rise within hours, there was little time to give to such questions. They needed to get it back to the shrine and prepare for the hatching ceremony. Though no matter how far from the location they traveled, the stench of rot and decay seemed to follow them along with the feeling of being watched.

RoleChapter 3 Whispers of the Blood Moon Added Sat Dec 17 08:56:10 2022 at level 1:The silence was deafening as the swamp was once again quiet as the pursuers were now long gone. Deep within the swamp a shimmering white egg sat upon the muck with dark brackish water surrounding it. Even the insects feared to make a sound as there was a looming presence filling the swamp.
As the sun crested the tree line, the light slowly filtered down to the swamp below. As the light creeped closer and closer to the egg, it came to a stop as if there was something preventing it from moving any further. There within the shadows the egg sat for the day, everything within the swamp fearing to even approach. It was as if there was a ring of death surrounding the egg, as if nothing existed within ten feet of it.
As dusk began to creep into the swamps, a breeze started to pick up though the water did not ripple nor did the trees move in any way. The deathly silence was broken by soft harsh whispers that swirled around the egg, though what was said could never be understood. It was as if an ancient language had pierced the void, the whispers gibbering with madness and insanity. As the temperature began to fall, the low whispers started to get louder now drowning out the noise of the swamp. An unexpected blood moon soon crested the tree line, its light giving the swamp waters a look of true terror. Yet this time as the red light approached the egg, it was not stopped like the sunlight. Sitting there bathed in the crimson light, the egg almost appeared to pulse and shimmer. The bright white now dulled, and crimson veins now starting to spread across its surface.
There in the glow of the crimson light, laughter seemed to pierce the veil.

RoleChapter 2 Egg Theft Added Sat Dec 17 08:55:32 2022 at level 1:Saruzk silently watched from the shadows outside of the village, sure that none had seen him in his actions. Anger and rage ever building within him as he watched everyone run at the whim of the priestess, as if she was a god herself. The hubris of such! To think that the line of Brightscales have reigned as high priest and priestess of the village for so many generations while his brood line were chase into the swamps. Yet while the rest of his brood had always been sniveling cowards, Saruzk would prove his lineage. For the whispers had promised him great things should he do their bidding, and what they asked was not too difficult. All they wanted was the egg and in return true power would be granted to him and his brood placed back into power within the village.
Cloaked in the shadows, Saruzk slipped easily into the village during the pitch of night. The trails were deserted and the noise from the swamp masking his movement he soon found himself before the nest at the base of the shrine. None of the Brightscales were awake or even around, for they were all sleeping off the celebration which had occurred earlier in the night. Fools, they proclaimed that this egg would be the salvation and yet this is how they would guard their fate.
Snatching the egg, Saruzk made haste back the way he had came. A perfect heist as none of the fools would ever know what had happened until it was too late. Or so he thought. A shrill sounded in the night, one filled with panic and anger which could only be from that of the high priestess. Others soon echoed her call, and life started to surge within the village. Panic now gripped Saruzk for he would not be able to evade an entire village for long while carrying the egg. Deeper and deeper into the swamps he fled, driven by sheer instinct for self-preservation. This damn egg would be the death of him and not the boon which he thought, and into the swamp muck he discarded the egg. Into the darkness Saruzk fled, leaving behind in his wake both chaos and the egg. Yet there the egg would sit undiscovered by any in pursuit.

RoleChapter 1 Celebration of Sra to come Added Sat Dec 17 08:55:03 2022 at level 1:Deep within the swamps, energy and excitement filled the air within the small Saurian village. It was a time of great celebration as the harvest moon was only a few nights away and the priestess egg would then bask in its moon light and be blessed by the gods. Jyasillas watched the bustle as she absently traced her claw over the egg beside her. Her white scales almost appeared to shine and glow in the moon light, with her woven mantle upon her shoulders marking her as the priestess. As she shifts slightly, her mate rushes up to her to make sure everything is ok though Jyasillas assures him that all is well sending him back out. Soon the time would come when her heir would be hatched, continuing on their sacred lineage to the Sra.
All who passed before Jyasillas would give a nod of reverence and a small shrill of joy, though not all eyes which were on here were of benevolence. From the deepest shadows on the fringe of the swamps a pair of dull red eyes watched unblinking. If one was to actually see them, they would be taken aback by the hatred which burned within them. Yet it was hard to tell any sort of form about the eyes, as the shadows constantly swirled and shifted never given a solid shape for anyone to focus upon.
As the moon settled below the horizon and the pitch night took full control of the lands, those of the village soon retreated back to their huts. That which could be done in preparation done, there was a feeling of accomplishment in Jyasillas. Soon her child would be welcomed into this world blessed by the Gods and Sra, destined to lead the village into a better age.
