Chapter 6

Journal Entry 3: Experiments, the Cadre, and Goals.

This one was tasked by the Lady Joihe to divine the true nature of Sra and
Weh, and also to understand the duality of vivimancy and necromancy and how
they be two sides of the same coin.

These tasks ended up merging together into theories this one had never dreamed
of. Many thoughts were provoked in talks with the Unholy Lich Butler of this
ones Lady. Once this one overcame the innate fear, the Lich Tamazin was
fascinating if can forget briefly what it truely is. This one is most
befuddled by it, for it is one of the Cadre but it's Weh nature is is
unseemly. This one can understand the pursuit of power through magic, but for
the greater good. Mayhaps it thinks what it does is a boon to Thera.

This one performed some vivimantic experiments upon the Lich within the Lodge,
and divined much of its magic. This one sent the Light of his vivimantic
magic coursing through its body only to discover that most of its being and
power were centered upon its head. Its body be little more than an animated
corpse controlled by the Lich. The negative weh energy within it cast this
one out, but learned much of Weh from brief encounter.

This one was tasked by the late Elder Prophet and Cardinal with finding a
place within Thera that could use the aid and light that only the Acolytes
could provide and to make an expedition of such, much as they did within the
terror that be the island of Corte. This one has heard whisper that some
poor people still try to eek out an existance within the plane of Shadows, and
wishes to one day make his way their to give them succor and to let them know
they are not alone in their struggles.

Chapter 5

Journal Entry 2: Magic, Faerie Dragons, and Joihe

As much as the Light and Sra are pivital to this ones being, magic be the
guiding force that has touched the soul since hatching and has taken this ones
path to the Lady Joihe and the Cadre. This one hopes to press the boundaries
of transmutational magics to learn magics of greater healing so can better
serve the Cadre and the Fortress.

This one has given vow to his Lady that he will gain mastery over all that the
guild of transmutation has to teach, so that may rise beyond it to true
Vivimancy. The journey of a Magi can be a trying lonely one lost in study,
but like most of value it be most worth the effort. So few take it upon
themselves to truely study all that is offered within the guild. If one can
not gain mastery over the basics of a magic how can one hope to push the
boundaries of it.

This one feels an innate connection to the faerie dragon egg and faerie
dragons as a whole. Think it comes from the transformative magic of this ones
hatching. Whether this egg hatches to find the familiar bond with this one is
inconsequential as a whole. Just to see it hatched and healthy would bring
this one the greatest joy. This one has already been subtly and slowly
increasing the metabolism of the egg so it might be ready to hatch sooner than
the 1000 years that was told it would take. The Lady Joihe also mentioned it
would need to be bathed in dragon fire to awaken its magic, and this one has
decided only the Mother Dragon Tiamat will do. The fire be the most pure and
magical in the land and this one will take no chances of lesser fires not
working.

Chapter 4

Journal Entry 1: Sra, the Light, and the Fortress

This one worried when did struck out upon his path to wear the robes of a
scribe that the Fortress would be stuffy and pious. While that be true after
a fashion especially among the Maran, it has been joyous to study healing
amongst the Acolytes. This one thinks the death blows the Maran must deal for
the sake of the innocent weigh on them and steals a joy of life.

This one hopes to bring a lightness that be missing at times amongst the
shining walls. To take the Maran out on adventures to see and appreciate all
they fight for. If one only sees death and weh it can stain the soul, this
one seeks to help them find a balance in life so they might not fall into the
role of a mindless murderer.

Many see Sra as the Light and Weh as the Darkness but this be a gross
simplification of what be all encompassing. All things be Sra or Weh. A
pebble be Weh because it holds no life or Sra within it. While a sappling be
Sra for it does hold life, but it be more than that. When someone dies for 3
days the body is both Sra and Weh till the soul leaves then it be of Weh only.
This one hopes to teach the Fortress about the people of the swamp so they
might better understand them for future dealings.

Chapter 3

As the word joy echoed in his mind it changed to Joihe, the echo becoming more
profound. Vague knowledge of the Goddess flowed forth but part of the path
must remain a mystery as it is the nature of such magics. Before he passed
out from the flow of information he got a paternal instinct to guard and care
for the faerie dragon egg to see that it hatches. It would take a 1000 years
but the magic of creation and transmutations may be able to speed up the
hatching considerably. Pri'xm curls around the egg as the magic consumes him
and darkness takes him.

When Pri'xm awakes days later the Elder Faerie Dragon has flown off on some
other adventure and left him with the egg, and an overwhelming desire to find
Joihe and discuss the burgeoning magic that grows within him that he hoped to
use to heal with and the wee egg he feels so protective of. He also heard the
call of the Golden Sun but he worried they would be pious and not find joy and
adventure in the light that he did.

Chapter 2

The saurian stayed sitting around the dome of light until dawn of the next day
when light exploded outward many shielding their eyes from it. As they looked
around they saw an Elder Faerie Dragon and a saurian of ten years or so with
the wings of a faerie dragon fluttering upon his back. The Elder Faerie
Dragon touched the strange saurian with her snout as purple runes of magic
coursed over his iridescent scales knowledge of the fundamental nature of
magic and creation. Light burst from the winged saurian once more this time
all that had gathered felt the wash of his magic. He altered and changed them
transmuted them made them hail and healthy limbs regrew and the old became
younger, everyone felt a strength within them they had not known before.

The Elder Faerie Dragon stood stretching her wings with a shiver that started
at her nose and ended at the tip of her tail. Beneath her lay a small purple
faerie dragon faerie dragon egg. The Elder Dragon looked upon the winged
saurian and announced to all his name was Pri'xm Brightscale, as knowledge from
the bonding between them still settled and grew. Knowledge of magic and the
light and how magic might be used to heal and defend. That the secret of the
Light is that joy, adventure, and frivolity must not be lost. They are what
give life meaning. Many piously try to find the light but that way represses
joy.

Chapter 1

Since before living memory there has sat the glowing egg on the northern side
of the K'sra village within Ysigrath. They used it as a guidepost saying go
west at the Brightscale as it translated from their language. It's just
always been there the Elders even say so. A week before the summer solstice
the longest day of the year the K'sra discovered that a faerie dragon had
built a nest about the egg and was wrapped snug around it. It would hiss if
anyone tried to touch it or the egg, but otherwise it watched the K'sra as if
it sat upon a throne.

The Egg grew brighter leading up to the solstice, and the K'sra had began
gathering about the egg to watch making many concentric circles and commenting
about the strangeness. The day of the solstice the egg began to hum as the sun
rose, the faerie dragon hummed a counter note and the saurians around it
joined as one as if compelled. The Chord grew more complicated as the magic
grew in the air, becoming chaotic and dissonant but beautiful.

The egg cracked and a small beautiful creature that looked like a cross
between a faerie dragon and a saurian gave a squeak that echoed with power and
a yawn before curling up to sleep, the faerie dragon wrapping itself about it
covering them both with its wings as a dome of light formed protectively over
them as the humming stopped as suddenly as it had started.
