Ailill the Elder of the Fortress, Initiate of the Jaguar

Chapter 2

The cycle of twilight, midnight, dawn and daylight spiraled at an
increasing rate with each passing day for Ailill. Without the
foundation of the Fortress of Light beneath him, he doubted he
would be able to maintain his footing as the war's ebbs and flows
stretched out behind him and he searched for a means to apply his
efforts best to the battles yet to be waged. His adherence to the
tenents of his faith in his Goddess remained predominant in his
thoughts, waking and dreaming. He strove for perfection in his
elemental arts and in their proper tactical applications. The
way forward remained a shifting path to his aging eyes and his
confidence in his Brother Maran, Squires, Acolytes and Scribes
fueled his determination.

Ailill had slain Feldar and his lackeys and supported the efforts
of the Paladin conclave in the north to the best of his abilities
though the battle lines had not shifted over much in many years.
Holding the line against the never ending onslaught of the taint
was an accomplishment, yet there were no apparent means to bring
the bloodshed to a victorious end. Ailill's devotion to the
triumph of the Light would drive his every action, word and deed
until his dying day.

Chapter 1

Ailill. Direct. Simple in the best sense. Devout and dedicated.
Born by the human tribes of the Northern Mountains he was orphaned at
a young age and raised by the elves living in the foothills of Calandaryl.
He was given his name by them, which means elf in the common tongue because
he came to believe he was an elf, while clearly with his dark features he is
not. He is well spoken and refined in manner and habit owing to the respect he
was taught to observe by his high elf caretakers. When others his
age rested or amused themselves Ailill sat at the feet of aged
sorcerers within the elven lands and soaked in their wisdom.
When he was of age he was chosen by the King's councilors to go
and venture to the edges of Thera with the purpose of finding a
means to finally defeat the armies of Udgaard.

Upon his arrival in the grand city of Galadon, Ailill heard
respectful whispers run through the populace. The people were not
murmuring over his coming of course, but at the sighting of the
Goddess Baerinika in the skies above. The young man took the event
as a powerful Omen and resolved to delve the depths of the
Jaguar's faith. Because somewhere in his soul he knew that there
his thirst for belief would be quenched and he would find the solution
to his quest.
