Chapter 6

- When Eilela was a child, going to the beach with her family, meant very much to her.

- The water is a source of security for Eilela. A place where she feels at home and
warm.

- The Fortress, now, is becoming like the water to her. A place of security. It has taken
some time, but Eilela is finally beginning to warm up to the Fortress and is truly starting
to see her comrades as family.

- Eilela first learned the water form of an Electric Catfish. It wasn't too long after
becoming a Squire. It was a shocking and static-filled time for Eilela. She was unsure
about her place in the Fortress and how others viewed her. The Catfish helped Eilela
to tame the shock and static. To have it fight for her.

- She later learned the Hippopotamus. She learned the Hippo very shortly after being
promoted to full Maran. The hippo being big and firm enough to carry the immense weight
of such a mantle. Eilela, the Maran.

- Being promoted to full Maran means the world to Eilela. She plans to continue studying
the Creed of the Maran, so that she can be the best example of the Creed that she can
be.

- Eilela believes she is making a difference in the world by progressing as a Maran.

- She also believes that by progressing as a Maran, she will be able to grow as a follower
of Baerinika.

- Her long time mentor, Vlijerous, has died. Stories say he flew off into the sun.
Either way it went, he's gone. Eilela was overcome with saddness when she found out
the news. She never felt anger at him for leaving. Only the saddness of losing a mentor
and friend.

- Although Vlijerous's death has pained Eilela greatly, Eilela knows she must carry on.
She has said her goodbye, at the shrine of Lady Baerinika, and has vowed to live a life
that Vlijerous would be proud of.

Chapter 1

- Eilela is rather plain looking, with a unibrow.

- She has always been unremarkable.

- She was raised the middle child of 7 sisters. Some were beautiful, others were
great warriors, poets, or singers. She is neither and none.

- Her family is well-respected and from a very long lineage in Darsylon.

- People often just forgot about her when she was growning up and being raised as
a young Elf. She was always very soft-spoken, and forgettable.

- All of her sisters were married off or became warriors, but not Eilela.

- Her mother and father are not bad people, but they never payed her as much
attention as her sisters, and eventually they basically forgot all about her.

- She basically just left her home, one day, and no one really cared or noticed.

- She wants to become a shapeshifter. She wants to changer her form because she
wants to be remarkable too.

- When she used to daydream, at home, she would think about flying away.
How free thay would be.

- She may be unremarkable, but she's still a High Elf. She can still be stuck up
and high-and-mighty. She has a high opinion of her place as an Elf, even though she
understands she will never be a great beauty or warrior.

- Her favorite animal is the Dolphin, and she may find comfort in itms and objects
that resemble a Dolphin.

- She is cautiously optimistic about starting out her adventure. She has used the
last of her savings to join the Shapeshifter's Guild, and is ready to start her
new life.

Chapter 2

- Eilela has been traveling and adventuring for a few decades now. She has seen
many things. Soul sucking deserts. Jungles of lush green. Places of shivering cold.
You name it. However, almost everywhere she has been she has seen suffering. Those
of the Light who are oppressed, slaughtered, or harmed by wicked creatures and evil
designs. She still carries around a necklace of flowers and a small trinket to
remind her of those innocents she has seen dead along the way. These sights and
horrors help to drive her.

- For longer than she would have liked, Eilela wore a strange bracelet from The
Basilica. The foulness of it still bothers Eilela, and also helped steer her towards
her current path. From time to time, you might see Eilela rub her left wrist.

- She has grown as a magus and Shapeshifter. Her first form was a Rooster. A regal,
albeit stupid animal. Very vicious and fast. It reminds Eilela to stay ferocious and
vigilant. When she first transformed, she truly felt special for perhaps the first time.

- Eilela has shed the blood of an adventurer. Not just one, but many. She has also
shed her own blood. She made up her mind to do so to protect others, but she is
concerned as she has quite the ability to kill. It's a skill she wasn't prepared to
be good at. She has discussed this with others, but plans to keep an eye on things.

- The Tower of Sorcery was the first to admit Eilela as a member, and holds a special
place in her heart. Eilela plans to continue studying there, as she learns quite a
lot from sitting in on classes. She also finds practicing there to be helpful.

- Eilela has also gained the form of a Yellowjacket. The form is sturdy and strikes
with a vicious blow. While also having a lingering effect of poison. Something to
damage from the inside. Eilela finds this form speaks to the lingering impact of
goodness. To infect the Evil from within.

- With the Yellowjacket form comes the ability to Fly! To Eilela, this ability means
everything. Her first time flying, she was overcome with emotion. Upon landing she
fell to her knees and cried. She wishes to continue flying and becoming better at it.

- She is still the klutz she always has been, but she is learning to be better.
It is possible that our ugly duckling may turn into a swan some day.

Chapter 3

- Eilela was uncertain, for quite some time. She felt pulled to two seperate places.
One was to an Altar in a mist filled Jungle. The other was to a burned altar behind
a waterfall. The former belonged to Baerinika, and the latter to Azorinne.

- As it turns out, her true path led to Baerinika, the Jaguar Goddess. However,
Eilela still wants to speak with Azorinne because her Tome meant a lot to Eilela at
a time she was confused.

- Due to the inspiration of Baerinika, Eilela decided to pledge to the Fortress of
Light. The Elven spear-maiden clad in armor was such a sight that Eilela felt something
special.

- Since pledging, Eilela has been made a Squire. She was inducted into the Fortress.
This means so much to Eilela, it is difficult to put into words. One of her highest
priorities is to find true understanding of the Creed of the Maran and become a Maran
herself!

- The Jaguar-Goddess, Baerinika, has even shown Herself to Eilela. The two have even
spoken.

- Seeing an Elven Goddess meant even more to Eilela than becoming a Squire. She was
in awe of Baerinika. She aspires to be like Her.

- Eilela was given a task, and that task is her highest priority.

Chapter 4

It was summer. We had all packed into two wagons. A part of a long wagon-train
from Darsylon. I was in the back, arguing with my littlest sister over our
favorite doll.

I could smell the sea air before I could see anything. Also the subtle change
in the vegetation the closer you came.

After days of travel, we finally step foot on the sand. All I remember was the
sound of the crashing waves. It was ever-lasting. A cascade of music that filled
both ears. I was immediately taken with the water. My mother spent time with
my smaller sisters, while my elder sisters had other interests. My father was
busy elsewhere. But I... I was in the water. We stayed at the beach for days.
I spent as much time swimming as I could. From sun-up to sun-down if my
parents would allow. I was teased by my elder sisters and called sea-cow and
all sorts of things, but it didn't matter. In the water, I was the closest
I could be, at the time, to flying. And so I loved it. That was the first
beach-trip I could remember, but we would go each year. That year, though.
The first year. That's the one I remember the best.

As I embark, further, into my study of shapeshifting... I embark to my next
challenge. The water. I am so curious what this next chapter is to hold...

Chapter 5

- Eilela is no longer the soft-spoken Elf that she was. She has been through a lot, and
has lived long enough to know that she must step up and be seen and heard.

- The City of Darsylon still means a lot to Eilela, and she still spends a lot of her
time there. Her ancestry and heritage still mean quite a lot to her.

- After so many years of working with and around other races, Eilela is starting to
realize that Elves aren't so superior. And that other races have much to offer and
contribute.

- Eilela likes to move around barefoot. She feels like shoes are too constraining.

- She has begun to care about her appearance, somewhat. Enough to try trimming her
unibrow and caring a bit more about her appearance. By virtue of her being so active
and hunting and practicing so much, her body has become much more fit and toned as
well.

- Even though Eilela has seen the value of other races, she still thinks the Elves
are best suited to lead and nurture these other races. Still, she has softened quite
a bit.

- After so much killing and bloodshed, Eilela has found that she doesn't care so much
for eating meat. She prefers to eat bread or vegetables.

- Eilela is normally very serious and not goofy at all, but she's been having a bit
more fun of late. Making sure to swim around in the ocean or wiggle her toes. She
does this, intentionally, to remind her of the good and beauty in life. To offset
some of the horrors and bloodshed.

- Eilela has been spending a lot of time working on spells, skills, and powers. She
feels that, as an Elf, her intelligence and ability to master skills and spells is one
of her advantages. So she plans to continue working to master as many spells and skills
as she can. As well as growing within her guild's circles.

- Eilela has been growing in stature in the High Tower of Sorcery, as well. Often seen
chatting with colleagues in the Shapeshifting world. Some, within the tower, see her
as a prodigy. This makes Eilela feel very special and remarkable.

Chapter 7

- Eilela has been studying and trying to mimic the Jaguars she finds around Baerinika's
shrine. Is it to learn to stalk better? Or perhaps she finds them cool animals? Or
perhaps to gain better understanding of Baerinika? Who knows. Maybe she just likes doing
it for fun...

- Eilela is having trouble understanding where she fits in to Baerinika's religion. She
knows she's good at hunting, but she wishes to delve deeper and find out more about
the religion.

- Eilela believes in Baerinika whole-heartedly and trusts that Baerinika will guide her
on her journey.

- Eilela hopes to gain Baerinika's full favor. In time, Eilela hopes to represent
Baerinika as a full Jaguar. To be Her champion, or perhaps Priestess. To understand
Baerinika and Her religion through and through.

- Eilela has had a second talk with Baerinika, and has been given something to work on.
Something to help fix some of Eilela's rougher edges. This is Eilela's primary task and
thought.

- The jungle in which Baerinika makes Her shrine is a place that Eilela has come to
find comfort in. Oddly enough, seeing as it is a graveyard. Still, she finds comfort
there none-the-less. She likes to pray there and praise her Lady.

Chapter 8

- Eilela has continued to explore and travel these lands. In that time she has come
across a vast wealth of knowledge. Knowledge not only of the land, but of many spells
and tactics of the many guilds throughout Thera. She has studied Transmutation,
Alteration, Invocation, and many many other arts. She has done this to further
"Sharpen her claws" as she would say.

- She has also come across great horrors. Such as the horror she witnessed in
Trothon tower. A mighty Elven Wizard who was consumed by greed and lust for power.
She has seen what lust for power and strength has done to many throughout the lands,
and she fears what it could lead to. She wishes to make sure she remembers what may
lurk within herself and to see that it never wins.

- Relatively recently, Eilela went on a quest throughout the many cities of Thera.
It was a quest lead by a fallen member of the Brigade, Rexan. On this quest, they
paid a visit to many cities, including Darsylon. This visit was met with mostly
dismissal and even resentment from the Darsylonian people. Eilela's people. She was
hurt by this, but not surprised. The trip made Eilela remember some of the reasons
she left Darsylon. The people of Darsylon care little for what happens outside the
city. Eilela is still one of the Darsylonian people, and she also is not. She doesn't
feel an outcast of the city, anymore.

- Eilela has reached the pinnacle of her guild. She has practiced, trained, studied,
succeeded, failed, bled, and cried for such an honor. Her guildmistress now looks
to Eilela with pride, and members of the Tower of Sorcery often bow to Eilela. Her
pinnacle also comes with a heavy responsibility. As others will now look to Eilela.

- Speaking of the Tower of Sorcery. Eilela feels a bit torn. On one hand, she wishes
to be present with the Tower and further the study and understanding of Shapeshifting
and magic, but Eilela has many many other responsibilities, now. Eilela has chosen
other duties over the Tower for now.

- Seeing as others now look to Eilela as an example, Eilela has begun to really
care about her appearance. She has also progressed enough as a hunter to move
far more gracefully and skillfully. It's taken quite a bit of time, but the swan
finally emerges. She chooses to keep her unibrow, however.

- As Eilela advanced to her 44th title, something inside of her stepped forth. She
learned the form of an Owl. Immediately, it felt as if a new form of wisdom was
within her. A new way of looking out at the world. The owl is both cunning and vicious
as well. A preditor, skilled at hunting at night. Listening and waiting. Eilela
was elated to know such a form. She has learned much from the Owl, and hopes to
continue to do so.

Chapter 9

- Nearing her pinnacle, when she was uncertain of many things. Eilela received the
form of a Squid. Eilela was curious, for a bit, but made the decision to try for
another form.

- As she 'spun the wheel' for a new form, a cold feeling swelled within her.
Something primal. Something simple. An unfeeling... Purity. She learned the form
of a Shark. The shark is THE predator. It does not feel or think, really. It IS the
hunt. It only wishes to feed. It barely even sleeps. The shark is trying to teach
Eilela something. Something she has yet to fully understand. However, she is
listenening.

- Eilela has been chosen to be the Captain of the Brigade. A position that comes
with the utmost responsibility. She is now in charge of training the Brigade,
as well as inductions and possible removals. She has spent a lot of time thinking
of this great responsibility. She is still new to it, but is eager and ready
for the challenge.

- As Captain, Eilela plans to lead by example. Also, she plans to make sure each
of the members she commands has what he or she needs to be successful. Eilela plans
to make sure if someone needs help, she will be there for them. Whether that's to
talk strategy, gather preps or gear, or simply to work on skills or spells.

- Eilela has spoken to Lady Baerinika, many times now. Eilela is still in utter awe
of Lady Baerinika, and praises her constantly.

- Baerinika even chose Eilela as Her Speaker. This is the greatest honor of Eilela's
life. It not only affirms that Eilela is walking the correct path, but allows Eilela
to bring others who might be interested into the fold of the Jaguar.

- Along with the position of Speaker, Eilela has been chosen and branded by the
Lady Baerinika. This, along with the Speaker position, humbles Eilela unlike anything
ever has.

- Eilela has learned a lot about the Jaguar. Things that may not have been spoken
but were learned, all the same. Her confidence and appearance have been effected and
improved by the Jaguar. She has learned to hunt and stalk like no other. She has
learned to be fierce, and to bare her teeth! She has also learned a kind of mercy
from the Jaguar. Perhaps not mercy as often seen, but a mercy of sorts. The kind
that won't let an injured animal suffer for long. As the Jaguar would put a writhing
animal out of its misery, Eilela will put down the wicked and blackened souls of the
world. For they are in great pain, even if they do not know it.

Chapter 10

- The future holds many things for Eilela.

- For one, Eilela still has unfinished business in Darsylon. She still needs
to find a level of forgiveness, perhaps, for the City.

- Eilela plans to start writing notes to Thera. Notes to speak for Lady
Baerinika, who is busy doing Divine things. Eilela wishes to speak to those who
may not know they have somewhere to go. Those who are looking for something, like
Eilela was long ago.

- Eilela plans to also write a missive or two for the Fortress. To let the lands
know there are those fighting for them.

- Eilela fancies herself a bit of a trend-setter. She has found a way of fighting
that most of her guild do not understand. She plans to find a way to give advice or
guidance to a new generation of shapeshifter, or to whoever will liten. Eilela isn't
quite sure how she will do this. Perhaps she will speak to Lady Ishuli about writing
something for her library. Or perhaps Eilela will simply hold lectures on the subject.
For now, she is still pondering the idea.

- Other than that, Eilela will still be traveling and learning. Bettering herself,
and living a life that Lady Baerinika would be proud of.

Chapter 11

- For so long, Eilela has been the ultimate predator. Seeking out her prey often very
much at her own downfall. She accepts this is who she has been.

- This way of living finally manifested fully when Eilela was chosen by the shark.

- As Eilela continued to grow and listen to the shark, it became clear that it only
wanted to hunt and feed. But in a ravenous way that is less of a want and more of a
complete drive.

- Eilela allowed the shark to drive her, for a very long time. It was a simple life,
you see? Hunt the evil and kill it. It allowed a clear objective and was an attainable
goal.

- Eilela now sees that she was running from something. That she was allowing fear
to turn her into a simple predator. Something easily defeated or hidden from.

- Eilela was using the hunt as a coping mechanism. By acting like the shark she doesn't
have to acknowledge that she's afraid.

- She's afraid of embracing her role as speaker, and failing her Goddess, Baerinika.

- She's done hiding behind fear. One way or another, she will find another way forward.


- Eilela plans to do her best to shun the shark, and focus on the true path of the
Jaguar.

- She is very close to death, and maybe she will die. But it will be trying to live
as purely as she can.

Chapter 12

- The Jaguar is a ferocious creature, this is true. However, it is not the claw or the
fang that makes this creature more than just a man-hunter. The cunning and intelligence
are what makes the Jaguar form a true god in its own right.

- The form of the Sleek Black Jaguar was a gift from the Lady, Baerinika. Eilela likes
to think The Lady thought she embodied the spirit of the Jaguar enough for such a
blessing. That has yet to be seen.

- The Jaguar has shown Eilela another side to the hunt. Something with far more grace
and discipline.

- Eilela plans to attempt to focus on this way of hunting. Something that may not be
as ferocious as the shark, but may be far more successful.

- Eilela realizes she is quite close to death. She understands that there will always
be the FINAL risk to any hunt, but she will still try.

- Yes. Eilela will seek her purity, now, by living. By living as long as she can.

- She plans to take it day by day. Step by step. If she can survive one day, maybe
she can survive the next.

- Should Eilela finally fall, she'll be okay with it. She'll praise her Lady one last
time and maybe have a drink at the bar for old time sake.

- Eilela is ready to face her deepest fears by relying on the Jaguar. Eilela plans
To switch her focus, as best she can, to preaching of Lady Baerinika and sharing what
she has learned of the Jaguar, the Misty Ruins, and Lady Baerinika.

- She still plans to be a good and active Captain, but perhaps in another way.

Chapter 13

It's strange. As time passes, I find myself thinking of home more and more.

From our house, above the city, we had the most spectacular view. The world
outside our balcany was a display of beauty and wonder. I remember seeing
my mother and father standing together. He, with his hand on the small of
her back.

They might be standing with one of my elder sisters at their side. Proud of
their lovely offspring.

They are fond memories. And they are all mine. They warm me through the cold
of war. They keep me grounded when I dream of grandeur. They remind me of
who I am and will always be. Eilela Eldwhen. Middle child of the Eldwhen
sisters. Darsylon Elf.

Chapter 14

- Eilela has finally hit old age. She can finally see a true end coming. It's a bit
frightening for her, but she's ready to embrace it. She's given full faith and
committment to Baerinika at this point, so she's not afraid of death.

- For now, Eilela will be taking some time to train once again.

- Eilela feels that she has learned so much from the Jaguar, that there is, perhaps, a
way to fight with the combined might of all the animals within her.

- Eilela plans to take a bit of time to learn to fight another way. To try focusing on all
that she has learned throughout her life, and from the various animals that reside within.

- In a way, she's right back to where she started. Training to become something she cannot
see or comprehend, but she feels is there.
