Chapter 1

Shortly after Pearriph's meeting with Lord Grurk, he received a strange
missive bearing his family crest. Apparently he had been spotted and
recognized on the outskirts of Blackclaw, and subsequently found. Within the
envelope was a letter from his mother telling him that his father had come
ill, and would probably not recover. She begged Pearriph to return to the
village and see his father. Pearriph was so moved by the invitation he packed
immediately, and left the Spire without saying a word to anybody. When he
arrived, he was welcomed with open arms into the house he had grown up in,
just as if he'd never left. Pearriph's return marked a boon in his father's
recovery, but it was only temporary. As he watched his dad wither away, he
began to realize just how many good memories had been stolen from him by his
fool childhood friend and cruel fate. The few moons he had spent at home
could never make up for the years he had been alone. Nor could anything else.
As the day of his father's death grew nearer Pearriph began to practice his
craft again, training his body as his dying father trained his mind with a
lifetime of legal experience. Pearriph left his home the same day his father
was buried, determined to take his vengeance on the underworld that had taken
so much from him. He knew this task would drive him the rest of his days. He
also knew he would need the teachings of the Molten Circle.

Chapter 2

"All Justice cannot be found."
The phrase rang in Pearriph's head. The Father had told him this at the
Blackclaw Temple, and had immediately afterwards proven himself correct by
telling Pearriph what Pearriph had already known to be true. Shydaine was
dead. Pearriph would never taste the sweet revenge he had dreamed of for so
many years...the Father had, of course, been right. Pearriph was lost.

Chapter 3

Pearriph had put his past behind him, he thought. He had established
himself as a Magistrate of Tar Valon, and was becoming more
guildstrong, as well. Upon his meeting with Kaerdil, a dwarven priest, he
realized just how much he had allowed that tragic night to haunt him. He'd
spent most of his life feeling sad and sorry for himself, for Talia, his dead
sister, even for his father's honor. But he wasn't the one who had changed
things, he hadn't set that fire. It was all Shydaine's fault! As this
realization washed over him, Pearriph felt the anger begin to well up, deep
in his soul. That derelict had killed his sister and stolen his life, but
Pearriph was finally in control again. He meditated on the Paladin's words,
and felt the rage coursing his veins, stoking the fires in his heart, just as
Shydaine had all those years ago. Pearriph knew what he would do. He would
find Shydaine and extract his revenge. Until then, he would redouble his
efforts and his anger against the criminal element that plagues this land.

Chapter 4

Pearriph was thirteen when he fled Blackclaw late one evening. For two weeks,
he had lived in silent agony, knowing that it was his best friend, Shydaine,
that was responsible for the criminal mischief that was occurring. As the
crimes worsened, so did his pain. He had tried to stop Shydaine, but in the
end had promised to tell nobody, especially his father. Pearriph couldn't
have expected what was to happen. Shydaine had set fire to a house, and it
had burned to the ground before anything could be done. Had he known there
were people- children- inside? Had he known Pearriph's younger sister was one
of them? As Pearriph laid himself down to sleep that first night alone, deep
in the recesses of the Virgin wood, his mind was ablaze with the vision of
the flames licking the thatched roof of the house. Pearriph vowed then and
there he would never allow such injustice to occer again.

Chapter 5

Pearriph was born youngest son to the sheriff of Blackclaw village. His
father was known for strictness, both as a judicator and as a father, and
Pearriph was schooled to an almost stoic disciplinarianism, which lays
buried underneath his cheery persona. When Pearriph was young, he was
implicated in a string of crimes and chose to leave quickly in disgrace in
order topreserve his father's honor. He does not think he will ever be
able to return.
