Chapter 1

Having heard whispers of the great CculGra and their pact with the Scions of
the Eternal Night Yakrov set out to join them, hoping that perhaps they would
know something of this Kalibak, and quite possibly how to get home as well.
Willing to make sacrifices necessary to return the relics of his clan, and
too return home, uncertain of his future Yakrov speaks to the dark lords of
the Eternal Night.

Chapter 2

Rubbing his clean shaven head Yakrov opens his eyes and peers about him
blearily noticing only that there is a lot of noise going and that its quite
bright, far brighter than he would ever consider the safe hall of his clan to
be. Clenching his hand on what he thought was his axe he finds instead a
simple note.

-Know this duergar, I have sent you here to reclaim what is ours or at least
to destroy the one who took these artifacts from our halls. The person you
seek is a Conjurer named Kalibak Ibonov, a great seeker of magics he
apparently has found some use of our relics though what I cannot fathom. You
must stop him at all costs you are the last of your Clan do not fail them.
Seek out the CculGra as they are great planes walkers and may yet know why
this events have occurred and what they could possibly intone. -

Rubbing his aching head Yakrov hurls the note aside whilst murmuring the name
Kalibak Ibonov. Yakrov notices for the first time he his not home nor
anywhere near it, no familiar mountains nothing, only this sprawling city of
black stone and filth.
"Arkham huh? Filthy Humans.."

Chapter 3

Turning on his heel Yakrov began to march from the Chambers intending to
round up his clansman and slay the traitorous dark-elves for it must have
been them, they where the only ones able to do such a atrocity. As Yakrov
stomped from the chambers to the great hall a shadow flitted across the
ground through the hazy smoke, with a quick flick of his wrist he flung his
axe directly in front of his target as he wanted to interrogate not kill. As
his axe clattered against the wall a thin figure launched itself from the
smoke directly at Yakrov, tattered and burnt it was nearly unrecognizable,
just as Yakrov was about to stomp on a frail hand it whispered in a faint
delicate voice, Stay your hand, I am no enemy of yours. The one you seek..
is not from this world, long we held the Ring, and the scepter symbolizing
peace between us, not realizing what power they held.. Using an ironclad
foot Yakrov rolls the dark-elf over and leans over to look in its face
intently, noting that the dark-elf clutched a fatal wound at his stomach with
one hand, before speaking. Speak before Yakrov cuts yeh from top teh bottom
like a damn pig! Who yeh be speakin of, where can I find em, an what deh hell
are yeh talking about?! Gasping loudly the dark-elf motions for Yakrov to
lean closer, dropping to one knee Yakrov lifts the frail body to a sitting
position facing him. In a cold voice Yakrov says Speak quickly I gots a job
tah do. The dark-elf looks at him intently for several long moments, then
before Yakrov can react he points at Yakrov and says only one word Krrlinth

Chapter 4

Born to the Clan of KrahJulkva a clan of mighty warriors that had terrorized
their surroundings for centuries, Yakrov was a member of the Berserkers of
the hall loyal members of the clan blessed with the chance to give their life
for their Thane. The Clan held the coveted Crown of Thanes, long ago forged
as a symbol of peace between the Duergar and the Dark-elves whom they shared
their mountain fortress with, and the Pendant of the Shadow Dragon,
containing the essence of the being that once lived in this great mountain
before either ever knew of its existence, the clan along side their allies
the Dark-elves battled and defeated the dragon trapping its essence in a
pendant along with a ring which both shared to insure the protection of the
mountain. Though neither knew quite the reason the dragon had hid in the
mountain, nor why it was so eager to stay in the mountain.

Chapter 5

A horrible scream cuts through the air bringing me from a dead sleep to my
feet. As I scrabble to collect my armors and weapons I notice smoke in the
air, and the stench of blood and charred flesh. I burst out of my room into
the tunnel only to find the fight has already moved on, bodies of my clansmen
lie about me broken and burnt. I noticed smoke filling the great halls of my
ancestors as I rush to the Royal Chambers fearing the unthinkable. Bursting
into the Royal hall and bring my axe ready, but find again I am too late,
even the royal guard could not stop this force their broken bodies lie about
me. Wiping the sweat and tears from my eyes, I march onward to the hall of
Thanes where the Thane of my clan rests upon the throne and has for many
years. Reaching the door I notice that some attempt had been made to bar
them, but some great concussive force knocked them from their great hinges.
Smoke and flames are all I can see for many moments as I step on my fallen
comrades. As I approach the Royal chambers a terrible laughter erupts from
within, pausing I wait too see what could possible have done this. As though
the voice knew my thoughts it spoke aloud, Finally the last piece is found,
these miserable duergar knew not what they held. Come servant we shall leave
this plane we have acquired what we came for and no longer have any need to
be here. As he spoke his last word a great flash accompanied with a
tremendous boom erupted from the chamber blasting me with the dizzying smell
of charred flesh and burning wood. Climbing to my feet I charged into the
Royal Chambers intending to destroy the source of the voice only to find my
Thanes body laying on the floor one hand clutched above its chest as though
it he clung too something even as he died. I gasped noticing the Crown of the
Thanes was gone as was the Pendant.
