Chapter 1

Gragnar is a gruff, unyielding individual but he is also an extremely kind
man. The exterior can be daunting and off-putting and perhaps may lead others
to misconstrue his motivations but nothing could be further from the truth.
Whilst he may condemn his enemies and seek revenge for their actions he has
in his priestly pursuit of the Molten Circle also shown a great capacity for
the healing arts. Gragnar feels greatly eased by the balance presented within
his religious activities. The bloody persecution of wrongdoers countered by
the peaceful moments of sanctuary.

Gragnar holds an especial grudge for:
Duergar,
Orcs,
Trolls,
Dark-Elves,
Oath-Breakers and betrayers,
The Restless Dead,
Practioners of the Black Arts.

Gragnar Is not best comfortable in the presence of Elves, considering them
flighty creatures that lack the true spirit of perseverance.

Chapter 2

Gragnars clan are traditionalists in the form of Nordiach.
Strong and unbending as the mountains and with a faith as deep as any ravine
they stand strong in their beliefs, unyielding before all blows.

Gragnar's father was one of the proud numbers of The Grudge Bearers. These
dwarves, for that is what they are, are the keepers of the Clans' Book of
Grudges. It's said that since ancient days the Dwarves have recorded in these
books every slight and each wrong done to them by other races. This account
is said to even include wrongs done to the Dwarfs by the gods themselves and
by the forces of nature, the mountains, weather, rivers, and so on. Dwarves
can be very, very good at bearing grudges.

The Dwarf language has no word for forgiveness, but many subtle variations on
revenge, recompense, and retribution. Each Dwarf Clan has its own list of
reckonings, a detailed account of all the grudges it holds against its foes
and neighbours.

The most serious grudges, the great racial grudges of the Dwarves, are
written in blood and learned by heart by every Dwarf of every Clan.

Dwarves have traditionally fought long and bitter wars against their evil
enemies beneath the earth. This struggle has become one of "kill or be
killed." As well as goblins, orcs, and hobgoblins, the war involves drow,
duergar, trolls, and many other intelligent races that inhabit the deep
earth.

Whilst not of the Grudge Bearers Gragnar is no different and his father has
charged him with the duty of keeping, remembering and (most of all) exacting
vengeance for aspects of this great list of grudges.

Gragnar dreams of avenging his people and perhaps, one day, to put aside
those Grudges he has been charged with carrying out. Such a thing would be
impossible even in a thousand lifetimes, but Gragnar is determined and once
his mind is made up, obstinate.
Features set in stone hide a caring heart, as gruff and stoic as he may be
Gragnar honestly cares for the plight of others and is a kindly soul when the
outer shell is penetrated. Long this may take though. One could look to
Gragnar for an unyielding and stalwart ally and take faith and hope from him.

Chapter 3

Dwarves, as a general rule, are a race of extremes.
A dwarf does nothing without throwing himself into body and soul, whether it
be fighting, singing, drinking, or mining. The dwarven way is, if you're
going to do something, do it not only right, but better than every other
race. This single mindedness is one of their finest, and at times one of
their worst, qualities.
