Krelissa the Gray Elf, Cleansed of Darkness
DescriptionBefore you stands a tall, slender, ebon skinned elf of remarkable features. Her eyes, when not in the red tint of those who see in the infrared spectrum, are the blue of the depths of the ocean, where little light finds its way. Her hair is pure white, and falls behind her past her shoulders, perfectly straight in any situation. Somehow she has managed to make her armor perfectly form fitting, so that her considerable curves are highlighted. Her expressions seem warm and and understanding. You also notice that...

RoleChapter 8 From The Depths Added Tue Jun 15 08:28:26 2004 at level 3:Krelissa originated from one of the few remaining cities of the drow in the Underdark, where, as the daughter of a Matron Mother, she was brought up to be a drow priestess. Her house was unable to stand up to the chaos of drow society and was annihilated by a lower house. Away at the academy to begin her studies, she was able to discover her assailant and deal with him accordingly. She quickly discovered the fate of her house, and also quickly realized how little she cared for it. Realizing she could find no place that she desired within the choas, she headed towards the surface, where she had read about expansive cities and empires that had been ruled in peace for centuries at a time. This seemed to good to be true, but she decided that it was better than where she had come from. She did indeed make it to the surface, where she learned of the partial reality of the illusion that the books had created. There were indeed beautiful bastions of order, yet there was still much chaos. Much needed to be done. Who better to do it than herself, she thought. She learned of the god Khasotholas, and decided to seek him and ask for his aid so that she might continue her priestess training and begin the purge of the chaos she hates so much.

RoleChapter 2 Passing the Time Added Wed Jul 21 17:26:40 2004 at level 51:Krelissa understands that the journey ahead of her is long, and she has become especially weak after her severing from the Hornets powers. At first she had trouble finding things to do, with most of Thera being ignorant to her journey she would be hard pressed to find any help. The help she did find, however, was graciously received, because the support would help her stay the course. She finds herself now spending more and more time among the Patrons and tenders of the Inn of the Eternal Star. Most might consider this a waste of precious time, but to Krelissa it is the most important thing that she can do in a day. The various discussions Krelissa has had within its walls have begun to crumble the walls surrounding her own heart, offering a chance for emotions such as compassion and happiness to escape through her actions and words. Her exposure to witty humor from the High Herald and Cadothu, the gnome, have helped her to grow and learn to enjoy life for the moment, and not always be focused on the hardships of the future. She does realize, however, that her path does not constitutes fun and games, and she does her best to show outwardly the changes that are occurring within her. She has donated generously, by her standards, to the Ruined City reconstruction fund, as well as buying bread and distributing it among the inhabitants. She offers her help wherever it is needed, and responds to nearly any request for assistance, even though in her weakened state she knows her help to be limited. She longs for her trials to end, but accepts that she still has many more hardships to endure.

RoleChapter 3 The End of the bginning. Added Sat Jul 17 08:48:48 2004 at level 51:All questions have answers, and these are no small exception. She has taken Brordaran seriously and accepted a meeting, arranged by him, with the Elder Prophet of the Light. During this discussion, all of her questions found answers, and she was amazed at the Prophet's ability to understand and sympathize with her doubts. His perception has given her all the answers she needed to confirm her doubts and he has set her on the course to redemption. He mentioned Velkurah, a Lord that may be more in alignment with her thoughts on order, and also might uncover the darkness from the light that has shone through in her heart. Krelissa realizes that there is no place left for her within the Empire that she used to hold so dear, as she realizes and has confirmed that the darkness within the citizens corrupts and takes precedence over the order that they should posses within them as well. Darkness and Order, the foundations of the Empire and Khasotholas's teachings, emerge as a paradox within Krelissa's heart and mind. The two concepts eat at each other, and every citizen before her has let the order dissolve and Darkness rule. The greed and deception that the Empire spawns in them prevents them from creating the civilization that Krelissa has always desired. Krelissa believes now that Darkness actually is a bane towards Order, and that the only true way for order to flourish not only within Thera, but within her own heart, is to eliminate the darkness.

RoleChapter 4 Doubts Added Fri Jul 16 22:58:24 2004 at level 51:Order...order is the concept that rules Krelissas existence. It brought her from the depths of the Underdark and led her to Khasotholas, it brought her from Khasotholas to the Empire. In the Empire she has risen not only to the peak of her guild but also to a considerable position of power, as one of the most elite priestesses. From this position, her outlook upon the Empire as a whole has spawned many...many questions in her mind, all of which end with her drive to order. Of late, what she has contributed to wandering thoughts have formulated themselves into more concrete doubts considering the orderly nature of the Empire as a whole. Looking down upon it, she recognizes the many similarities with the place she left so long ago. Similarities with the drow culture dating back to generations before she was brought into existence. The Sects, for one, are of particular interest to her. There are four, and four sects with four leaders, each leader, each member of the Sect, striving one day to be the Emperor, striving one day to become the most powerful and influential being within the Civilization. The Darkness and Order that has become a catch phrase to describe what must be in the heart of every citizen presents itself as the greatest mystery to Krelissa. She sees the two, as of late, to be a paradox, none can exist at the same time within the same place.Darkness breeds deception and greed, two elements that can only lead to the constant maneuvering for an advantage, constant backstabbing of persons that should be ones comrades. This bears so many similarities to the Drow that it pains Krelissa to the point of questioning her existence. She begins to doubt her beginnings on the surface. She begins to doubt whether she belongs in the Empire...regardless of her place within it. She begins to doubt her reasons for seeking Lord Khasotholas, as well as how the postulates within his faith can exist simultaneously within any being. And she begins to hear in her mind, over and over, those few words that Brordaran unleashed upon her one fateful night, I wont stop until Ive uncovered the light that I know lies deep in your heart, in all of your hearts, little lady. This summarizes Krelissas doubts into three major questions regarding her purpose and her faith. Do the giants words hold some truth? Is the Empire really able to create Krelissas imagined world of Order? Can Darkness and Order in their purest forms exist simultaneously in a persons heart, much less all of Thera?

RoleChapter 5 Wandering thoughts Added Wed Jul 14 16:12:24 2004 at level 51:Of late Krelissa has been letting her mind wander as she walks the halls of the palace, and especially as she climbs the stairs to the throne room. She cant help but notice, as she passes the chamber of the Council of Four, that there are four sect guardians, a constant reminder to the divisions between the sects. As she peers southwards towards the Sect hall of the Shadow her thoughts plummet into memory. She recalls a certain shadow named Akannia, one she doesnt see as much anymore, and whose distance she can only think is enforced upon her by both the shadow sect and her ambitions to become the Shadow Lord. Krelissa, on the other hand, has no ambitions of being the High Priestess, has not once considered it, instead only thinking of serving the current one, as well as the Emperor. She can sense, however, the wolves moving in for the kill. The high priest will die his final death long before her lifetime expires, she knows, and her peers would be all too willing to trample his corpse and take his place. She wonders if she is feeling, remorse, compassion, no no that is impossible, those are the feelings of the weak hearted lightwalkers, not one devoted to the Civilization such as herself. She refocuses her thoughts and begins to plot her next actions.

Immortal CommentsTue Jul 6 06:51:43 2004 by 'Khasotholas' at level 47 (101 hrs): Don't get to see her much, but seems to be dedicated.
Wed Jul 14 17:54:07 2004 by 'Khasotholas' at level 51 (140 hrs): Good religion and Empire talk with Brordaran, good job by both.
Sat Jul 17 14:05:23 2004 by 'Khasotholas' at level 51 (147 hrs): Praying for Velkurah. Empowered down to 28. Seeking redemption of something. I hate redemption.
Sun Jul 18 17:55:48 2004 by 'Arvam' at level 51 (153 hrs): At least she's got a role entry about it, and it seems to fit from actual IC interactions.
Tue Jul 20 12:33:52 2004 by 'Khasotholas' at level 51 (170 hrs): Unempowered because she says evil is just no good. Hell, I coulda told her that.
Tue Jul 20 12:58:33 2004 by 'Velkurah' at level 51 (170 hrs): Good interaction at the entrance to my shrine. My three spirit helpers roleplayed out the rcleansing of Khaso's influence on her. Titled ans ent out to suffer for a bit.
Thu Jul 22 23:57:55 2004 by 'Arvam' at level 51 (192 hrs): Apparently seeking redemption means becoming a barfly. She came out of the gate strong, but seems to have faltered slightly.
Sun Jul 25 15:32:38 2004 by 'Velkurah' at level 51 (205 hrs): Prayed for me from my shrine, I went to watch what she would do, and she ran straight to Hamsah and quit almost right away upon receiving no immediate response.
Mon Jul 26 13:10:41 2004 by 'Velkurah' at level 51 (208 hrs): Turned her neutral and betrayered her.
Thu Aug 5 13:48:12 2004 by 'Velkurah' at level 51 (227 hrs): I played out removing the last of the taint from her, changed her title again, and told her she would have to find Vyn or Shok to become truely good.
Thu Aug 5 13:48:54 2004 by 'Velkurah' at level 51 (227 hrs): Also suggested she seek out their followers some. Gave her a little re-strung Ki-rin pendant for motivational purposes.

RoleChapter 1 Roadblocks. Added Sun Sep 12 20:44:07 2004 at level 51:Krelissa, having made the primary step in her redemption, has encountered an unexpected turn. Finally cleansed of the darkness that had such a firm hold on her heart. She learned that her Lord, the Great Ki-rin, could not carry her through the rest of her Redemption. He told her that she would have to seek the audience of either the Clarion, or the Phoenix.
She sat in contemplation of this for a time, deciding which of these Lords would better match her plans, settling initially upon the Lord Vynmylak for many reasons. Firstly, her friend Alarian had wished that she do it such, and from further inquiry learned the reason why. The Lord Vynmylak was rumored to take a slightly more respectful viewpoint towards the preservation of the laws. Krelissa, always having a similar respect for them, figured this to be a closer match to her true spirit. Thus, she began actively seeking the acceptance of the Lord Vynmylak.
Unfortunately, this was not to be so easily handled, as she found when granted the Clarions presence. His acceptance she had, he explained, but it was his belief that as a Drow she contained within her blood the sins of her people. He did, however, drop hints that the Phoenix did not share this particular belief before recommending that she live a peaceful life, perhaps learning to farm.
For a time afterwards she lost herself to the belief that her journey had come to a sudden and impassible end. She did indeed contemplate farming, to the point of searching for some land near the Redhorn Mountains. Watching after the setting sun one evening gave her the inspiration that she needed. No matter how many times the sun disappeared below the horizen, it always rose once more, never resigning in its god-given mission to provide warmth to Therans. It was that sun, something most of her kin had never laid their eyes upon, that inspired her to continue her journey.
As she looked to the Northern Mountain Range, toward the shrine of the Phoenix, she smiled to herself. After all, what better place was there to watch the sunrise?
