Chapter 1

Born to an Imperial warrior and a drunken whore, Chaku was deemed retarded
from the very moment he spoke his first words, at seven years of age. He was
a single minded oaf who never understood more than the orders of his father.
He was always dutiful and did all that was asked of him to the best of his
abilities, which often were quite below par. He watched the assassins
practice quite often at their facilities near the Imperial palace and often
dreamed, in whatever fashion a half-wit can, of being an assassin himself and
making his father proud. Whatever free time he had he spent pretending to be
an assassin and often times when it wasn't his free time. When he was finally
of age to be kicked out of the house, his father quickly did so not wanting a
half-wit of a son to bother him. At this time Chaku spent his time training
as an assassin in what ways he could with the single-minded goal of joining
the Imperial Shadow Sect...
