Arzosah the Uki Goshi
DescriptionAn arial is here before you, you would guess him a well over six feet, much taller than most arials you have seen. The feathers that cover his head are a deep, blue-black color, and give way to a sharp, black beak. His beak is jagged along the left side, and smooth along the right. His eyes are pearls of white against his black face. A rather thick torso for one of his kind can be seen below his avian head. It is covered in tribal tattoos. They are blood red. Massive wings sprout from his back, also a deep blue-black. Large stains of crimson flow out from the joint on his right wing. There does not seem to be any pattern to the stains. Large, strong legs, covered in the same plumage as the rest of his body sprout into rather long, smooth talons of crimson.

RoleChapter 2 Features Added Sat Jul 17 21:05:18 2004 at level 35:Blood on the right wing: Became a birthmark for a great future chieftain after Arzosah I slew a rival chieftain with his spear and the rival's blood stained his perfectly white feathers. Bestowed by the gods, and the mark of the clan name. Each of the previous Arzosahs were exceptional warriors, winning great battles for the clan. The first against the Mooncrests over the sacred site where the first arial was supposedly created. The second against the initial assault of the Imperial Legions, in which the Bloodwings were the only to claim a victory. The third against the Blackfeathers, on the sacred spot where Vassagon supposedly ascended into Asgaard.
Jagged beak: Arzosah became imprisoned by a mad magician who worshipped Drokalanatym during his trek from his home. The wizard worked slowly at etching his beak away. His plan was to recreate Arzosah into his own personal dragon, and then present him to the Lurker. Arzosah escaped when he feigned a mortal poisoning and the wizard came to his aid. Arzosah tore his face off with his new beak.
Tribal tattoos: After being exiled from his homelands by his father, Arzosah traveled far and wide across Thera, finally coming to Hamsah Mu'tazz. He lived for five months as a bandit south of the city in the harsh desert. The tribesman he called his friends tattooed a person for each of the successful raids that person led against caravans, resulting in the covering of his entire torso. He was approached by the guildmaster of the Royal Society of Assassins and offered training, he took the offer and enrolled in the Academy one year to the day he was exiled from his home.

RoleChapter 3 Religion Added Sat Jul 17 20:58:22 2004 at level 35:While the clans respect non-arial immortals as divine beings, they are afforded much less respect than their arial counterparts. Each of the arial gods, alive or dead, are given their own place in the arial pantheon, and each presides over the major areas of an arials life.
Arvam - Passion, Patron of Clan Swiftwind Shokai - Strength, Patron of Clan Silvertalon Vassagon - War, Patron of Clan Bloodwing Pico - Chaos, Patron of Clan Blackfeather Intronan - Death, Patron of Clan Mooncrest
Mekantos - Followers of the Old Ways
Arvam. Arials of the clans believe they get their extreme intelligence from Arvam. Many of the minstrels and historians of the clans hold Arvam in the highest reverence. Arial warriors who relish in combat believe that while Vassagon and Intronan rule their lives, it was Arvam who gave them their lust for a good fight. Most regular clan arials feel closest to Arvam due to the fact most arials believe they are destined for greatness.
Shokai. While revered as the god of light amongst the lesser races, it is the amazing strength of Shokai that draws clan arials to the Silver Lord of Retribution. All arials, regardless of the paths their lives take, can find appreciation in Shokai's stand against seemingly overwhelming odds. Most priests in the clans feel closest to Shokai due to his devotion to a cause.
Vassagon. The arial way of life is combat. It is the path to glory for those born with a sword in their hand. In the great commanders of the world, a small part of Vassagon is believed to live within them. All soldiers pay homage to Vassagon in some way or another, whether it be through personal sacrifice or the downright slaughter of their enemies. Vassagon is revered by all soldiers, though more so by those who fight for glory, as those who fight for survival.
Pico. A representation of the inherent chaos abound in an arial's short life. Pico is both feared and revered by any arial who is responsible for something, for it is by his grace that you succeed or fail. If the whim of Pico is to destroy what you have made, improve upon it, or just leave it be, then it will be done as he feels it needs to be. Pico is most revered by scoundrels and gamblers, who believe him to also be the god of Luck.
Intronan. Death comes to arials faster than most races, whether in glorious combat, or in not-so-old age, it comes quickly. If Intronan comes to your door, it is only ill news if there was something in your life you forgot to do. Those who deal in war and combat hold only Vassagon higher than Intronan due to his grip over who lives and dies.
Mekantos. A cult of arials that spans all of the clans have come to revere Mekantos in fanatical fashion. Seeking only to inflict pain and torture upon any outsider they come across, they are responsible for nearly all of the kidnappings and murders against both outsiders and city arials who embrace outside ways. Mekantos is feared by all regular clan arials, and it is this fear of him that helps to preserve the old ways.

RoleChapter 4 Succession Added Fri Jun 18 16:01:22 2004 at level 28:"Traveler, state your name and intentions," the sentry came forward with his hand on the pommel of his sword, "these are the lands of the Bloodwing Clan, and outsi..."
A flash of silver in the night signaled the end of the challenging sentry. The traveler ducked below the lightning strike of the second sentry, another flash and a spray of crimson found the second sentry pierced through the back and heart. The traveler had not missed a step. The moon was new and the shadows were deep as the traveler picked up his pace through the lands of the Bloodwing Clan. As he approached the manor, he moved around towards the western wing, where he knew the chieftain of the Bloodwing Clan would be sleeping deeply, safe in the knowledge that his guards were the finest of arial soldiers. Slipping through the gardens and just out of torchlight, he evaded the patrols and found himself perched on the ledge of the chieftain's balcony. He contemplated his action and glided silently across the massive balcony and through the open doors. His talons did not even click on the floor as he came to the chieftain's bedside. The emblem of the Silvertalon clan flashed in the low torchlight as the traveler drew it from his robes and drove it through the throat and the back of the neck of the chieftain. He cast of his traveler's robe, also embroidered with the Silvertalon emblem and disappeared into the night.
"Sir, Master Arzosah is at the gate and is demanding to speak with his father."
"Go and get him sergeant, say nothing of what transpired here last night, I will tell him myself."
"Yes captain, right away," the sergeant hurried off towards the front gate. He returned twenty minutes later with Arzosah.
"What is going on here captain?!" Arzosah demanded as he strode into the room. "Where is my father?!"
"Master Arzosah your father has been murdered. It was an assassin from the Silvertalon clan by the looks of the scene. He killed two of my best men at the gate as well."
Arzosah lowered his head and snapped his beak angrily. "How could you let this happen, and how do you expect it is the Silvertalon clan?"
"These were left at the scene," the commander produced the fallen cloak and dagger that he had found in the chieftain's room.
Arzosah simply nodded and clicked his beak, as he had habit to do when thinking. "They will pay for this, send emissaries to the Swiftwind and Blackfeather clans. The Silvertalons will cease to exist when I am finished with them. Prepare a burial for my father, and let it be known that I am now chieftain."
"Right away Master Arzo..., apologies, Chieftain Arzosah.," the captain strode from the room screeching orders.
Arzosah clicked his beak and smiled to himself as he walked down the hall to the scene of his father's murder. He turned the corner to the picture he had left the night before, his father's blood staining the white sheets, "I told you father, our clan will rise to greatness, I have set in motion already a great war of races, and the biggest obstacle to our claims amongst the clans is about to be destroyed. It will be so, our race, and our clan will rule Thera."
The commanders of Arzosah's new personal army destroyed the Silvertalon clan, and their allies the Mooncrest clan i

RoleChapter 5 Overview Added Sat May 22 06:20:09 2004 at level 26:Overview
"Leave my home, and never return, you speak of treason against our Emperor, and that is treason against the gods, I will not have that."
"Father, the fact that the Emperor sits on his throne, doing nothing for our race is treason to our kind. You have hereditary rights as chieftain of our clan, take your place and show Thera the greatness of our race!"
"Get out! You will bring ruin to our kind, you would plunge us into civil war. The clans throughout the mountains already fight amongst themselves, and each of them have hereditary claims to the throne. Not to mention the bureaucrats in the city who would be in an uproar."
"They only need a strong leader to bring them together, you can be that leader father."
"Out! Out! Out! Go and never return, your heart is black, and you curse this household!"
Arzosah turned and left, adding, "You will see father, our race will rise and all of Thera will tremble when the clan name of Bloodwing is so much as whispered."
Arzosah is the fourth to carry both the clan namesake and the mark associated with it. Legend has it that the first chief of the Bloodwing clan stained his perfectly white feathers with the blood of a rival chieftain after impaling him on his spear and holding him up for all to see. The Bloodwing clan holds Vassagon in the highest honor amongst the arial pantheon. They claim he was from their clan before he ascended into Asgaard, but many clans claim the same thing. The other arial gods are all revered, but hold nowhere the reverence awarded to Vassagon.
Arzosah believes he can take both the title of his clan's chieftain, and then the title of Emperor of the Arial Nation. He has decided to bring the arials under his command by inciting war amongst the other races, forcing the arials to come together to defend themselves. When that happens, he will kill his father and unite his clan and the other two clans living on his family's lands, the Swiftwind and Blackfeather clans. He will invoke his hereditary claim to the throne and overthrow the Emperor. He hopes by bringing total war to Thera that he can gain the endorsement from the priests of Vassagon, proclaiming him selected by the divine and enforcing his claims to the throne.

RoleChapter 1 History Added Sat Jul 17 21:08:07 2004 at level 35:The arials have lived as clans since they were created. In the beginning, there were five clans. The Swiftwind, Silvertalon, Bloodwing, Blackfeather and Mooncrest. Numerous smaller clans branched from the five original clans. As the five major clans expanded their own lands, the smaller clans were forced together, and eventually founded the Arial City with help from the major clans as a type of safe- haven for all arrials. The smaller clans who had been forced to live together became one and elected their own chieftain. Over time, the arials in the city became so powerful that they began to push outwards against the clans. Their chieftain claimed the title of Emperor and a great civil war erupted. The newly formed Imperial Legions won early victories and expanded the lands of those from the City. As they stretched themselves out, the war came to a stalemate. The clans would not come together enough to overthrow their kinsman from the city, and the Imperials could expand no further. After one hundred years of this stalemate, in which the arial race was cut nearly in half, and many noble and heroic arials died, a peace accord was reached. The borders of each clan and the Empire were set, never to be changed. Also, in a clever ploy to keep the clans from ever uniting, the Emperor granted a rightful claim to the Imperial Throne to each of the chieftains, and their offspring for all eternity. He assumed that each would be so suspicious of the other chieftains, they would never dare to trust another or ally with each other. As the years passed, the great civil war was all but forgotten, and those in the city lived in harmony with those from the clans. The clans adhered to the old ways of seclusion and religious devotion, while those in the city embraced outsiders and their ways of life. They became more human-like, and the distinct beak and talons of arials from the clans faded into less defined features.
