Chapter 7

Zefta was born with wealth. Her father was wealthier than it was healthy to
his family, how he obtained such a wealth being an undertaker. The secret was
the dark art of necromancy. This was a well kept family secret that the first
born of each family was to be thought this craft to carry the legacy forward
until finally someone would be powerful enough to obtain immortality.

Zefta wasnt the oldest, she had two older brothers. Twin brothers, competing
with each other about whom their father should send for Hamsah Mutazz to
learn the dark arts in the name of lord Beroxxus as their ancestors always
had. Though unfortunately neither of the fathers children was showing any
sign of talent for the dark arts at all, but that did not stop the two
brothers from constantly trying to kill each other in the most interesting
ways because they knew that even if they did not posses talent, one of them
would be sent.

Chapter 6

Zefta never saw it as a possibility to be the one, so she watched her
brothers squabble and took interest in the ways they tried to kill each
other. The rush she felt when she knew that one of her brothers was about to
walk into a trap, or eat something that was poisonous. Even though she found
comfort in seeing death close by, she feared it greatly, or to tell the
truth... She feared the undead. Her father being frustrated about not having a
suitable heir used the undeads in the basement to try and capture his
childrens interest, all he did was frighten them as the undeads liked
grabbing a hold of things and biting what they got a hold off. Zefta had far
too often been forced to go down into the cellars to fetch something for her
mother just to be attacked by these ghouls and zombies.

While her brothers fought over the heritage Zefta used her fathers gold to
have fun, her interest in death made her seek the brink of death, giving her
huge adrenaline kicks. This was what she lived for when one day she came home
for more gold after being away for a month, just to find out that both her
brothers were dead. They had finally managed to sneak in some subtle poison
into each others food, bribing the slaves that tested it. Both had died a
gruesome death at the family dinner, their father had already embalmed their
corpses and made zombies out of them.

Chapter 5

Zeftas father let out a deep sigh as she sat down in his office after he had
summoned her and said: Zefta, we both know that youre a disgrace to our
family. But it is now up to you to carry our quest for immortality forward. I
will give you a big sack of gold, and this letter of recommendations. Now,
dont say a word. I dont wish to hear or see of you again until you have
reached the pinnacle of our guild or you have reached immortality.

So, Zefta headed for Hamsah Mutazz with only one thing on her mind... She knew
she wouldnt survive the training to become a death mage, she didnt possess
any talent in this at all. She was considered brave by her friends who
mistook her craving for adrenaline for courage. But the big question was, how
would she now find immortality? A question left to be answered.

Zefta loves the rush of combat and seeing death in action, she enjoys putting
her self at risk, staring death in the eye.
Zefta is extremely frightened by the undead, she dont hesitate to kill them
when she can, if she know that she can beat them. But they are one thing she
doesnt take any chances with.
Eventually Zefta will hear about the empire, and the way of leaving something
that lasts forever. Finding out that a lich is the empress might scare her
away, or intrigue her to try and overcome her fear of the undead.
She will, as her family always have search the approval of lord Beroxxus and
seek his mark.

Chapter 4

It has been a few years, and Zefta has been learning. Not only in the ways of
a warrior, but also the way of the empire. She is a blade in the great army,
on the road to greatness she thinks. One day she will take the place as war
master, to begin her work creating a vast army to conquer Thera with. She
realizes that she will most likely never become empress, though shell strive
for that. But if it cant happen, she will make sure to go down in history as
the one that made it possible to expand the empire, making the name Goldbeak
live for ever.

She has also respect the dark arts a bit less after meeting several
necromancers in her travels. They are quite frail she has noticed and not as
dangerous as she thought. But that does exclude her empress. She is utterly
afraid of the lich, as she is undead and a master of the dark arts. So both
fear and great respect will for now keep Zefta from scheming against the
empress.

Those of the village have caught her interest. They seem to enjoy fighting as
much as Zefta do, but she does not yet understand why they attack her on
sight. This far she has failed to investigate this as the few she has met has
refused to talk to her. But she is curious of these strong fearless warriors,
they would be a great addition to the army...

Chapter 3

Zefta has this far had a glorious life since she left her fathers home. Not
for a moment has she regretted that she joined the empire. Her learning
within the guild of warriors has been rather slow, and the road to where she
is has been sided but numerous enemies. Most of the time she has been
fighting against the odds and she has found that it suits her well, the worse
the odds the greater the rush when escaping death. The fear for undead and
corpses might have become less of a problem, she almost doesnt studder when
speaking to her empress but still she refuses to touch corpses. Though still
she will refrain from scheming against it.

As time has gone by she has found herself never to utter the prayers to lord
Beroxxus as she once did in her fathers home. During her travels she has
learned more and more about the lord, and while she would want the might and
power it could grant her shes not that eager to torture her victims. Perhaps
in time shell change, but for now she rather seek the adrenaline of what the
fortress or a berserker would call a "fair fight".

Chapter 2

In the past couple of years Zefta has begun to focus more and more in
strengthening the blade sect in the ways she wishes it to be. Building up
networks, arranging tests and trials for the blades. Hopefully she can
arrange some tactics training within the Arena for the blade sect as the sect
has grown larger.

As for the position of War mistress, she is fairly certain that itll be
given to her once Eleia dies of old age, because old she must be as it is and
Zefta havent seen her make any crucial mistakes for her to take advantage
off...

All this has given Zefta little time to reflect on her relations with lord
Beroxxus, her family god. Even if she hasnt realized so herself, she is less
and less inclined to become religious and follow her familys footsteps.

Instead, in her quest for immortality to her name, she is likely to seek out
the lord of legends. Make the name Goldbeak legendary and know throughout all
of Thera.

Chapter 1

After so many years, Zefta has reached one of her greatest goals since she
left her fathers house. She has become the war mistress of the great imperial
army.
With none but the empress and the dark lords to command her, she finally
dont need to put up with all the adrenaline empty fights she had while
travelling with the full army and the former warmistress. Finally she can
dance with her opponents in the fashion she enjoys the most, to the brink of
death.

Being only a tiny step from the greatest power in Thera, the position as
empress, she has devised a plan to take that final step, but it will take
many years of scheming with the others in the council. Putting them in debt
to her, making sure that she will be the only viable choice once a revolt
against the lich empress can be held. This secret she will share with none,
none must suspect her and she has already gained a bit of trust from the
empress.

Already the next possible Dread lord, Ikbe, is in debt to her. And
she knows the high priest and shadow lord hold her high in regard, but also
that both enjoy the ruling of the lich lady. But with time, she will be the
only choice for them.

The great lord Kastellyn has eluded her for several years now, failing to
arrange an audience. The great lord seems to be busy elsewhere, and the
promise of having the god confirm the legends of Zefta seems far away still.
