Shapeshifters. They are mage classes with many spells that come in
handy, Identify, Teleport, Detect invis, Invis, word of recall, etc.
but in the higher ranks they play very similar to warrior builds with
certain choices in shapefucus. In my opinion, they are a very good
mage class to get your feet wet with.

No class you mentioned is boring but to keep interest it's really up
to the player to find and keep the interaction and interest going. I
wouldn't personally suggest a necromancer but a transmuter, conjurer,
or orc wouldn't be awful choices. A transmuter is often sought in
ranking groups, the same with a conjurer and orcs can play very
similar to offensive builds of a warrior.

In the end, whatever you choose will only be as fun as the effort you
put in. Good luck though.
