I was really surprised the way Kyraea turned it up at hero. In the lower midlevels, I would have bet on this character to be a perma-Squire for sure -- you seemed as lackluster/clueless/blah as any Squire in the history of the cabal. I half wondered if it was a traded character or something.

As I said, you did turn it up at hero, and I think you would have seen Maran sooner or later, but it does take time to overcome that kind of past. Just as the game doesn't begin at hero, neither does the journey towards Maran/Acolyte.
