- Prologue -

Dear reader, I hope you picked up my book because you heard of my research and
wish to produce the Purest Element. And, not because you found the remains of
my written thoughts somewhere, scorched beyond normal recognition, as I did
with Therlonius' work. Fate has made it so that I was both witness to his
greatest achievement and catalyst to his greatest failure.

His legacy has catapulted me onto the path that brought me here and now you as
well. It has come to me now to reconstruct what he has discovered and achieve
that which he was denied.

As this book is a journal it is a repository of my thoughts, musings and
findings as I conduct the research necessary to achieve the ultimate goal! The
Pure Element. To craft it and to understand it.
