Chapter 2

As the girl grew older, she hoped her fear would diminish but instead
it only grew stronger. She found she had an affinity for sensing the
magical elements moving and those feelings only made her more filled
with dread because she could never truly deny what was in front of
her... that her world was full of what she was scared of the most.
She could feel the shackles of her fear and dread tight around her
body, heart, and soul at all times and the one thing she found she
wanted most of all was to be free of this pain.

The day came when the young girl determined that she had been kept
chained by fear for too long and she made the choice that she was
going to be free of it once and for all. She ultimately knew that
a decision like that would take time and effort to overcome the
many years of tendencies that had become a natural part of her being,
something that had turned into as much of a part of her as her own
wings and claws. With the gleam of a hunter searching for its first
prey and meal, she left her hovel and slowly glided over the water
left from the rain upon the mountainside to the guild of invokers.
She told them of her ability to sense the elements and stated with
only a slight shake in her voice that she wished to enroll and learn
to weave the elements in a way that she could accept them as a part
of her life and no longer be afraid of them. As they inscribed her
name upon the roles of the invoker's guild, she told them her name
was Niraada Darkensun, a fitting name for one with the duality of
dark and light in the colors of the feathers of her wings and also
the feelings she had towards the ways of good and evil, a pure and
true feeling of ambivalence to either side.

She began her search for the knowledge of her acceptance of her own
abilities, knowing that magic would forever be something she
would always be seeking. As she spent time in study to hone her
gifts and accept the path that would lead her to freedom of her life
and soul, she determined two other things. First, all who truly
sought to find magic needed to be free to make choices. Without
the ability to choose how or what she would learn, she would never
find all the answers she sought. She determined then that she would
take a path of freedom and seek out those who cast off all shackles
that would be bound upon them. She would seek out those named the
Outlanders of Thar-Eris. Second, she read of a divine being in her
studies that told of freedom, adventure and magic. She would
seek out this Cadre of the divine Joihe and learn from her on how
to further learn and accept the abilities within her and how she
might make herself stronger and more free forever.
