Chapter 6

Finding not only his life shattered, he himself now a broken man, Nian had
plenty of time to ponder about what had occured to him. But each time he did
it, the pain and the sorrow of a loss, so very near, came back at him. Each
of the days, during his long recovery, it was the same thing, until one happy
day, a Bard came by with what could be no other than pure chance. His was a
song of sorrow and despair, and all of sudden Nian felt his heart rejoice. It
felt as if he had finally found someone to share his dreams with, filled with
suffering. He was no longer alone. Although the Bard never knew it, he had
probably saved Nian's life. His music had given him hope where all other
things failed.
