Chapter 5

When combat is a way of life many things that should not be are left to the
side. Jalenkan has spent a large portion of his life training his body and
will continue to do so as he most enjoys it. He at times has found the
fruits of his labor to be both bitter and sweet.

The bitter fruit of a life devoted to training is that it often is semi-devoid of
friends or companions and Jalenkan knows this well as he has not
traveled with a large amount of adventures within Thera. While he is
pleased with his training he is also a little deprived in the way of bonds
with others and sometimes shows this by being condescending or
arrogant.

The sweet fruit of a live devoted to training is best served over the beaten
form of ones enemies. The experience of victory is not new for Jalenkan
as he has bested many opponents and has only fallen in the most rare
occasions however his training has yet to yield a killing blow. On several
such occasions his training was so self evident that even though he was
unable to move with multiple enemies tripping him, he still managed to
drive them away.

Both the bitter and sweet fruits of training served together form a beautiful
dish and will some day allow Jalenkan to become a better person. One
who is not as egotistic and can stand toe to toe with the greatest Thera
has to Offer.
