Chapter 6

Janos emerged from the shadowy depths of the Chasm, to once
again re-acquire the magical items used in protecting his perfect
self from harm. As he slightly walked passed the shorter shadowy Ccul'Gra
standing on the outskirts of the Chasm (not looking at him on purpose), he noticed
an odd tingling sensation coming from within his mind. Closing his eyes, an image
of a note attached to a corpse floating in the Khalid river. Opening his eyes
and perplexed, he immediately moved to the destination shown to him in the vision. Lo
and behold, a bloated corpse floated slowly down the Khalid river, with a note attached
to the creatures neck. Floating closer to the corpse, he noticed the creature was vaguely
humanoid, perhaps half-elf or half-drow. As he reached down for the note, he smirked
at the way the note was attached to the corpse: Via a large hairpin, pierced entirely
through the corpses neck. Removing the hairpin, he opened the note and began to read:

Your matron calls my son. I have been watching you and am disappointed in your
apparent influence within this supposed Chasm. These creatures and their petty
quest to bring the Shadow Plane and Ccul'Gra amongst here are below you. We
have a more important quest.


Your mother hereby stands disappointed. You know what you must do.
Signed underneath the note penned in flowing drow script was
the name that Janos dread to read one day.
Ilithslandry Ist'Uss

He crumpled the note in his hand, sneered a moment and continued
on his duties. He would show his mother he was no welp to speak down
to. He was Janos Ist'Uss, the Perfect.
