457, Madness and the Sundering of Dreams

No sooner had the magebane illness been cleansed by the Return of Twist, when the reckless Consortium is heard to be digging deeper still, unleashing the latest of the terrible consequences.

Another illness strikes, though this time, both the magical and the vulgar fall sick alike. Worse than a mere magical interrupt, this time the illness is said to inspire madness. Rumors emerge of those affected muttering gibberish, screaming insane rantings, or even engaging in wanton acts of violence on friend and foe alike. Lauraine attempts to ease suffering with the power of healing sleep as best she can, but she cannot keep up with the wanton spread of the terrible disease.

Those afflicted are also overcome with a great fatigue, and some, in a restless slumber, dream of a massive cyclopian giantess sleeping in mist. Psuchae is her name, and some set out to find her, sure that she is certainly the key to the cure.

Finally, Rhaika and Lauraine discover the sleeping deity who has appeared at the Seal of Kuun'Alnos. The curse triggered by the excavation, it seems, has torn through the Veil of Shadow, causing the Dreaming to leak into the Prime Material Plane, thus causing the mad rantings and hallucinations.

The duo lead the slumbering goddess out of Organia and into the Prime Material of Thera. Psuchae then weaves the threads of dreams, fate, and reality back into their proper alignment. Whispers are abound of a vision of the cyclopian giant appearing to the afflicted, the last hallucination they see is the goddess opening her great eye and sending them into a deep slumber, cleansing them of the vicissitude.

Now, Psuchae has a manifestation of her spirit trapped in physical form, bringing a new deity to the known pantheon.

And still the digging continues.
