8357, Assassination thread
Posted by incognito on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I didn't post the original but I think I know who the assassin was and who the victim was. I suspect that the reason they don't post on gameplay is that if I can know who the characters were, and they posted here (it being a protected forum), I'd be able to work out who plays who.
Any chance of removing the protection on the forums? Or alternatively, allowing posting under a different handle so long as you have logged on under your registered handle?
As far as assassinations go, I generally don't have a problem with them. That said, that's probably because I don't cabal as much as many players. If you are in a sustained raid situation, an assassin has plenty of opportunity to stalk.
That said, I suspect that the dead person in question (if it is who I think) did have an area attack ability, which he could have potentially used to flush out the assassin. If I am right about who was assassinated, weren't there also people that could have watched for assassins, on your behalf?

to success that you seem to get when you assassinate someone who is either fled from, or is fleeing could be considered an issue. I may be told i'm completely wrong and i'm making it all up but if you nail someone in what is still probably the fighting stance more often that not it appears to work.
This however is not from any extensive testing of the class or anything like it on my part, but from one successful assassination and bunch of failed. The successful one took zero skill by comparison.
It also comes from reading a bugger load of logs. (hardly proof positive , i know)
