79, On the Bounty Code
Posted by AnImEfAhN on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Great job, never thought that idea would go in. I placed my first bounty, let's see how many players can make warriors with roles as bounty hunters now, eh? ;)

My only gripe is that you can't offer more than one item for reward... any plans on dealing with this?

Hey, why can't we place bounties on immortals :)

But Mayesha should have a bounty placed on her head by Floofi.

It's been one of my pet projects for quite awhile that suffered due to real life just like many other things.

I'm not sure what you mean. You can bounty as many items as you wish. Is it the fact that you can only bounty one item at a time?

Syntax says:

bounty <victim> <item>

Are you supposed to be able to:

bounty <victim> <item> <item> <item> etc.

We'll see how it goes, currently you can just keep doing bounty <victim> <item> over and over. Probably not to hard to add in multiple items, but it's not high on my list at the moment.
88, I realize this is new, but...

Just wondering if the Bounty goes away after a time, or if the Placer decides to Delete.

I'm sure I could level up a character to 11th and place a bounty to find out, but what a waste of playing time, and system resources.

I'd also love to be able to place an Anonymous Bounty as well. No need for my victims to know I'm out for them, maybe pay a 1k penalty to 'keep it quiet'. uh, uh ?

The bounty only goes away when it is collected or the character it is placed on deletes. The office will continue to keep track of the bounty even if the person who placed it dies.

I doubt this will happen, but you never know.

Just like to say I like the bounty thing as well, though as mentioned - why should it be public knowledge that I placed a bounty on someone? As I see it, it's more of a sneaky way to get someone killed than outright do it yourself. Like head of cabals youre in or something. I sure wouldnt want them to know that I'd like them dead. From my point of view you should get to decide if you want it to be public or not who placed the bounty.

Would it be possible to make it so that the person that placed the bounty could cancel it later if need be, and lose what they put up for the bounty to the bounty office? Its possible to not be pissed at someone for whatever reason after a bounty is placed.

I've tossed these to the immortals for discussion, we'll see where it goes.

I like the idea of posting a bounty annonymously. I mean, why the hell should everyone in Thera be allowed to know I've put a price on someones head? All they need to know is, if they go and kill Bob, they get a nice juicy payday. Who cares where the money comes from?
