7728, Gripes about W-ELFs

Alright, these are mainly just inconsistancies that have been bugging the heck out of me ever since w-elves came in...hoping maybe to get an explanation if nothing else, so I can sleep nights.

1) Why is it that Eryn Galen, the w-elf city, can be hometown for all kinds of people EXCEPT w-elves?

2) Here's the big one I've never understood...of all things, why is it wood-elves are such clutzes? I'll give that elves tend to be somewhat foresty, but their sneak is just everywhere, as are drow. Here, we have a pure elven race, offshoot of high elves, and they're LESS sneaky (from what it sounds from helpfile) than elf/drow-human crosses. Not to mention, they're still horribly less adept at sneaking around in the terrain they actually chose to chill out in, which seems half the reason they aren't "elf" anymore. Even drow trump them, cave-dwellers that they are. So, uhm, yeah..little help?

Wood-elves sneak in foresty areas and get quiet movement elsewhere.

They do? Hmmm time to roll up a wood-elf soon. Anyway, I felt wood-elf penalty should be 250-300 exp. 400 is kinda steep, this plus limited sneak and iron vulnerability and low cons.

Also some suggestions on wood-elf inherents:
1. Animal instinct.
This keen sense of animal instinct grants a wary-type of danger sense, think rabbit (same as shifter). This sometimes work at low levels (maybe make it at lvl 25) depending on inherent percentage and it gets better at higher ranks, ie. swiftstrike, kicking in more often.

So a wood-elf is able to know that a ranger is camoflouged but cannot see him. Or even an assassin or someone sneaking up, eg. thief, elves, in his woodland area.

2. Wood/herb lore.
Able to gather simple curative herbs to heal low-level poisons, some chance of diseases (plagues) with a lower chance of a small cure light wound (sometimes it works, sometimes you can't find the right herbs for the curelight, etc.). Has a timer like stoneskin or longer.

Don't know if it is too hard to code though.

More to woody power!

Actually wood elves in sertain combinations have hidden perks which makes the 400 xp bonus correctly. I just want to mention druids and ranger woodelves have some nice things to it. I will not describe it furthere here because I am not sure if this is common knowledge or if its supposed to be discovered in game. If its common stuff the imms can describe it :)

It's actually a pretty cool race, lot cooler than normal elf or drow I would say.

It's in helpfiles, and we announced the change when we made, but wood-elves get a number of significant perks towards nature-oriented skills and spells. Warriors, healers, etc. won't benefit much from this, but we're OK if the wood-elf race skews a little towards rangers and druids given their lifestyle.

7762, Do these perks apply to cabal powers too?

If not, perhaps they should? You know, cabal powers like beast call.
7765, Ah, well, that helps some...

You can't really tell when you ARE one, and I haven't been around w-elves enough to notice, so I was going off this in the helpfile...

*** Due to their many years in the wilds, wood-elves can walk quietly there, although not so quietly as other elves.

That makes it look like they don't get sneak in the woods. Anyways, any reasoning to no wood-elf adventurers hailing from Eryn Galen?

I just rolled up a wood-elf to check, and Eryn Galen was one of the hometown options.

Eryn Galen is nearly full most of the time, however, and you might have caught it on a crowded day.
