From Catholic Christmas which is 25 Dec till Russian Old New Year which is 13 Jan.
This matches the period when all the sober people get kidnapped.

People usually have less time for holidays, so they might not login. Having bonuses may incentivize them to login, even of it's for a shorter time, they can still be productive.
