Looking to our website, many of you may have noticed each race/class has a list of notable heroes with links to PBFs so players can take a look at memorable players and see how they built their class, their timeline, experiences etc.

Needless to say, our current lists are terribly outdated.

We're looking to update these lists to more recent characters (within the last 4-5 years) and would like some input from the community about who some notable characters were for each race or class.

So if you'd like to give a shout out to some notable characters of certain classes please post and we'll take everyone's feedback into account when we move to update the website with more recent notable characters.

One final idea: If the logs make this easy (they may not) filter for the set of characters over the last 3 years who were cabal leaders, or who got a class-based imm reward (quest form, third virtue, third legacy, etc.), or who placed in a role contest, or who were given a custom title, or who were tattoo'd by a PC deity.

Then remove the ones with fewer than 300 hours played, those where the custom title was negative, any non-healer with a PK ratios under 50%, any non-healer with fewer than 20 total PKs, and any character with significantly negative staff comments.

That should generate a pretty good starting set to choose from. (If only that data were readily available somewhere).

I don't consider myself that technically savvy and I did it with a free app.

Then you just sort and filter as required.

I started doing this until realizing that lots of the data on qhcf is flat-out wrong. Mostly the character creation dates. I considered writing my own scraper but lost interest. There are a number of stats that aren't on Dio's that I'd find interesting. Just to give one example: PKpH at hero (or maybe at 47 for necromancers).

Just going off what pbfs are available via qhcf pkstats with a nod towards hours logged and pk presence. A few players show up often!

Centaur - Kanlax
Goblin - Grokko (plus award for largest difference between value added in game vs on forums, lol)
Orc - Worthag, Garfuka. Trekberg?
Drow - so many good ones... Glik, Tsalantha. Xeneth, Liantae
Elf - ILLAETH, Gwildaththea
Halfy - Tiiga, darvoderis, kregan. Thorawyn?
Human - nazarates, jeede, ardish, tanzer. Kooxmow stood out recently as a cool build.
Frost - gokmokroh
Fire - So many. Vramun, sodsob. Kaer, Igos, bakrmarr, panitorop.
Cloud - zah, joenne (low hrs but was a personal favorite), aoirse
Storm - Selionar, Jeunne once they delete
Gnome - Hitrilipimi, koelegh, corzu
Svirf - hard to pick one pincerbot over another but Grembolin, Shravthar,
Oxias, Zerin... Parandalia
Felar - surprisingly many, Laedan, Renize, Qinsa, kowelu, fessara, arrashaw, aithiar, Buon
Duergar - way too many great ones, Jarlduz, Sindrir, sekope, golthazar, grimghal, jhelruk
Arial - slim pickings from 2014-2016 but some recent standouts are Guais, gillador, thirisg, oliopterix. Maybe ghek, torzen?


I think I'm forgetting some races...

First I kinda feel Imm granted unique race/class combos should be excluded.

Second, their RP seemed original at first but was super stale for so many hours and very single faceted.

I'd rather see Liffy in the elf list.. and we all know about Liffy...

I really thought she should've been neutral, and that's coming from someone who should've been neutral like 500 hours earlier. :P

If you're going to point at an elf and say this is a great example of an elf in all aspects of elfdom, I just don't think she's one of them.

When she killed Billy the Dwarf with the tainted herbs I laughed harder than I ever have at anything that's happened in CF ever. It was classic.

I'll gladly put up with the entire character for one moment, but she absolutely, 100% should not be held up as an example of anything.

People Auldr know better than to play a Sunwarden that way.

And while that moment was perhaps one of the most classic in 25+ years of CF history.. I still don't think she should be put on the list and our characters were pretty tight for 200+ hours (and no, it's not cause she killed me).

I can't remember their name for some reason, but their RP was always on point whenever I interacted with them to a degree I could only have dreamt of reaching. One of the best in-character examples I could think of. I'm horrible with names though so can't remember it!

Clarification question: do we want suggestions just for each race, or also for each class?

Also, how much emphasis should be placed on "recent" when it competes with "notable"? That is, would you/we rather have a 2 year old character who was "pretty notable" or a 8 year old character who was "very notable"?

When I get the time, I'll compile two lists (one by race, one by class). For classes/races that can be multiple alignments I'll try to get a mix of good/neutral/evil.

Bleh. Got halfway into making a list when I realized many of the dates in Dio's PK Stats list are bogus. Thought it was just the 1969 ones, but it looks like many characters 2015+ are showing as 2009, e.g. Gromm.

Unfortunately, I never ranked past 44 with Heaghul.
Gergan the same, though he was Drillmaster.
Ild made hero, but deleted at 350 hrs.

Couple of drow (aps):
Victoria and Tsalantha. Latter deleted with fully charged weapon and killed the fire ap beast of the era (Sodsob) twice.

Nererial the drow was notable for all the wrong reasons! Like writing a note to the whole shadow sect about his plot to unseat the emperor, when he only meant to write to the shadow lord and put his title in the TO field for atmospherics.
