Just curious if anyone can shed some light on tough mob blasts (i.e. gas blast, fire blast, lightning blast seen from the likes of the elemental bishops, Lord Rah, etc.).

Are the blasts breath weapons? There is no casting to show they are spells. Does svbreath work? Is it a straight stat check?

Most of those are considered breath attacks. Save vs Breath helps and can avoid secondary affects (becoming vuln, catching fire, poison, freezing solid) as well as reduce the damage.

Additionally the base damage of the breath attack is influenced by how wounded the mob is. At perfect health they do unspeakable things but while writhing in agony they might only massacre.

The dragon fighting edge helps against these attacks as well.

Or does it make a difference for non-dragon mobs that also blast?
