So I mob die..there was no engulf in chromatic flames..I unghost and go about my business and about 15-20 min after.. My belt crumbles! can someone in the know please tell me what is happening here?

Logs are great in situations like this. Let's us look at specifically where, how, etc happens. Apparently Umi's good with bug board, so go with that or e-mail if needed!

There's code in place that crumbles powerful items if you're below 25.

My guess is you dropped it someplace we have flagged as one of those rooms people tend(ed) to use to multi-char gear.

You're welcome to report it as a bug and we'll get into it at some point. Right now I don't have time to solve this particular mystery, unfortunately.

Because I also picked up the belt and chainmail that did not go poof.Both were on the ground in the guild hall..As for my other post, the weapon I had was gotten by grabbing the weapon when the other player was disarmed.

But it works exactly as I said. Gear crumbles after a couple dozens of hours.

It has been as such at least since Grokko times. I have encountered it A LOT since I've had a lot of high level gear passing through my hands. Eventually I just stopped bothering getting it.

Not recently, but then I tend to gear like a homeless person until I've reached some point where my gear is really getting in the way of doing stuff and then I go out and get better stuff, which is above the cutoff...

Am I the only one to accidentally drop all instead of drop all.steak when trying to mark your way through the maze in Organia?

I've done it thrice, in different years, but only when I have some o the best items I've ever had in my inventory......

If you log out before level 11 with limited gear, it disappears when you next log in. If you log out between level 11 and level 15 with limited gear then about 30 mins into your next session, the limited gear will start crumbling. I’ve played enough lowbies to say this with a high level of confidence.

But there are other factors that may be involved, such as dropping an item outside the nightmare dragon or underwater in the dragon sea. These also cause items to crumble because reasons.
