6584, Archons, Archons, Archons.

I'll keep this short and sweet. Lumionus archons are all but useless. Please, Please, Make the odds of getting Lumys far less.
Getting a Lummy four times in a row after dumping 900 mana into a summon (as a goody with max human cha) Is really, really uncool. This means I have to sit around (for all 4 summons) a total of fifty RL minutes. And its a rarity that the Lummys will go Heal above Cure Crit.

Anyway sorry for the whinishness of the rant, just hoping you can make it a bit less likley to get lummys with the right amount of mana poured in. None of this was ment to be a flame at the immstaff nor the class in general, I think it is an outstanding class. Just cant stand those bloody lummys.

6608, Suggestion: Summon Angel

Minnaus steps into his circle, an ominous silence falling about him.

Minnaus chants continuously, channeling his efforts into a single spell.

c 'conjure angel' 2000

As the blinding light subsides, a hot female from the 70's steps forward to protect the light!

c 'lightbind' Jill 100
Jill says 'I won't bow to you, until Bosely gets here!'

Minnaus grumbles and growls quietly to himself.

Minnaus says with a snort 'Another one of Charlie's angels...'

6597, Lumies AREN'T useless.

You can get a lumie who still rocks. Not to mention, there are benefits to the lumies that you may be missing. Spend more time with them, get to know them and experiment with different mana and different power levels of lumie. I guarantee there's more than one.

I found them non-useless. Obviously not as good as the better ones, but not useless. I also agree with Theerkla that more mana isn't always better. Unfortunately my experience with conjuring was while playing a Warlock, so my concept of what's the "right" amount is all screwed up.
6585, Are you sure 900 mana is your sweetspot?
Posted by Theerkla on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
More mana isn't necessarily better.
6588, mana is not the only element...

Guild summons are really crappy... And find your special spot to conjure... Some places seem to get better followers than others..

When I conjured in guilds i could con to perfect match, while im my little special spots I could get hooded mobs with the same amount of mana. And the same with archons, luminous vs transplendant...

Conjurers are all about research... Ohh and explore your familiar :D

Interesting. I never found any "special places" with my conjies. But then, the though never occurred to me to look. For elementals I could see conjuring strong ones when you'r ein their element (mountainous place for earth, etc.), but off the top of my head I can't think of what locale would generate better archons/angels.

Well it might be a coinsident but normally when i conjured an archon with 1200 mana i would get a loum, but when being in a special spot i got blazing and up every time.

Then consider yourself lucky you found such a spot. I never did.

For the record, my elf warlock would put considerably less mana than that into my conjuring, even taking warlock powers into account. Think I got transplendants maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the time once I hero'd. Could be selective memory, though.

Does charisma factor into summoning? Or just binding?

From my experience it helps bring non-angry servitors. Didn't seem to effect their power.

It is a (smaller, I believe, but I wouldn't trust my memory) factor in summoning. It and mana are not nearly the only factors, though...

Any chance of having some hints of what other things factor into the strength of conjurations added to the helpfile for 'conjure whatever'? I think the helpfile mentions mana, and that's pretty much it.
