64397, Anathema and Guardian RP

Entrance to the Imperial Assassins Guild
Barely any light illuminates the Entrance to the Imperial Assassins Guild.
The golden symbol of the Imperial Codex catches what little light there is,
and glows faintly. Murmured whispers seem to come from all directions, as
does the faint sound of a blade being sharpened. Padded footfall comes from
around you, but the source of it remains unseen.

(Red Aura) A bloodoathed assassin guards the guild from intruders.

(-26.49%)--> A bloodoathed assassin says 'You aren't allowed in there!'

where
People near you:
(PK) Muuksube Entrance to the Imperial Assassins Guild
(PK) Tiiga The Imperial Guild of Assassins

Questions:

(1) Why does a bloodoathed assassin guild guard (or the guildmaster) allow an anathema to sit inside?

(2) Why does the oathed guard not step aside for the Emperor?

(3) If the Emperor orders the Oath to stand aside, and he (it) does not, is it acceptable RP for the Emperor to slay the Oath - given
the fact that the guardian cannot be anathed, or blood reckoned.

Thanks

64415, There are a couple variables in play here
Posted by Destuvius on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
One is the whole bloodoath vs Imperial. Bloodoaths are NOT the same as citizens or higher, which is why they have their own standards within the cabal and aren't allowed up into the Throne room etc.

The other variable at play is that this situation involves an Anathema. Without getting too terribly elaborate in the response, there are exactly 0 safe places for an Anathema to hide from an Imperial in terms of Empire RP, no matter what obstacle is in the way.
64416, I'll add:

Technically, the reason the guild guards block even the Emperor is because they share the same prog as any other guild guard.

The rationale here being that if they didn't behave this way, the Emperor would have a handful of safe rooms near his/her cabal to hide in (at least until their opponent mowed down the guards), and that's a strategic advantage that Emperors don't need.

That's pretty odd looking. If they will not allow the emperor in the guild, then they should not be bloodoaths. Ditto with allowing anathema's in there.

Other than that, how is Imperial Lands any different from any other area in terms of game mechanics beside giving Empire nice shoppies and guilds next to their cabal?
64400, I'm checking the RP angle, so I don't become Anathema.

Normally, I would kill the guardian. It's not a protected city, and
I have RP reasons for doing so.

However, I don't want to break Imperial Law and become anathema. Technically, the Oath is an Imperial, sorta.

So, I'm asking on the gameplay forum if Empire IMMs are going
to Anath the Emperor for killing the Oath Guildguard for not
allowing him into the guild, e.g., following the law, without
there being a blood reckoning, or being able to anathema the guardian.

64401, From RP standpoint, Imperial Lands are not area protected by Imperial Law
Posted by Kstatida on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Otherwise Imperial Law becomes largely obsolete in raid situation.

I really don't know the answer, I'd kill the oath for messing with the Emperor though. It's not Palace, you don't even break law.
64402, You are Emperor. It is your Empire. You kill them if you need to get in. n/t

64405, Normally I'd agree, but...

Under completely normal circumstances, I'd agree.

Lately there has been a lot of stick; I'd rather be safe than anathema.
64408, *golf clap* Totally understandable (n/t)

64409, Not sure it has ever happened....

But I wonder what would happen if you killed said guildguard, Destuvius came down (or Zulgh when he was active, etc) and then the Emperor tried to Anathema the IMM?

I mean, I know how it would eventually work out, but that's kinda an interesting thought process.

It was my plan had my High Priest got Emperor. I was going to Anathema Grurk :)
64411, There is an echo in place where it is hard coded to prevent it. I tried. =) n/t

As Sect leader and Emperor i have killed the guardians many times in such situations.. Bloodoaths are nothing and not subject to protection.
