64279, Request for clarification?

"Instead, certain race/class combinations now yield additional edge points upon reaching level 51"
- What does this mean?
-- Play giant anything and you will get overburdened with edge choices? :)*Kidding*
- Is this wound back in any way IE if you meet the requirements you will get these points. If your human you will loose points you got?

*****

Characters with experience penalties of 300 or less no longer receive edge points for reaching level 49. Instead, certain race/class combinations now yield additional edge points upon reaching level 51 based on their popularity and other factors. An exception is made for goblins and orcs as they may receive a bonus at 40/50 respectively.

Nothing is retroactive. Characters that reached levels 49/51 prior to reboot are unaffected in any way.

All characters still get the same number of edge points for reaching 51. What changed is that instead of some characters getting X points at 49 based on their experience penalty, they now receive them at 51 and X is based on their race/class. X can range from zero to the same number of points it was possible to get at 49 previously.

The number of points is based on the popularity of the class, it's perceived "deathfulness", how much the class benefits from edges, and seasonality. The values are essentially the result of some analysis with a pass of subjective review at the end.

We'll review these values from time to time and make adjustments as necessary.

They only work if we know what class/race combos get rewarded.

I'll point out the obvious as well: this reduces edge points (again) for lots of chars contrary to what the playerbase has been asking for.

Idunno. It feels more like a balancing to me. Naturally strong builds get less & more difficult or less meta builds get more?
