61782, some shaman questions
Posted by Isildur on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
A shaman focusing in light armor receives the following benefits, each
dependent upon wearing light armor (by weight) and/or avoiding heavy armor:
- Increased mana regeneration
- Increased evade chance
- Increased effective level of supplications; this is more powerful while
fighting and has a smaller effect upon communing to initiate combat or while
not yet fighting.

1. Not counting the bonus from "warpriest light", do stats affect the effective level of a shaman's supplications, e.g. INT and/or WIS?

2. W.r.t. "warpriest light", what about low-weight wearables that aren't "armor", i.e. clothing and treasure? Do those count the same, or must the item be "armor"?

3. The phrase "light armor (by weight) and/or avoiding heavy armor": does that refer back to the prior definition of "heavy armor" w.r.t. "warpriest heavy", i.e. "stone, bone and metal"? That is, would a light-armor guy benefit from a piece of extremely light metal armor or would it not "count" because it's metal and metal is hard-coded to be "heavy"?

No.

Just item type armor.

It's not perfectly consistent, as "heavy" generally refers to armor that is of those materials and "light" can either refer to not heavy or in at least one specific case, the actual weight of whatever is worn in various equipment slots.

As I understand it, the warpriest mechanic is something that never really made it past that first round of tinkering.

Huh. So if you wore all super-light metal armor then maybe you get one benefit (say, mana regen) but not another (say, increased evade), because one cares about material and the other cares about item weight?

Not complaining, but it seems weird that the "light" guy doesn't derive any benefit from lightweight clothing/treasure.

EDIT: Thanks for responding, btw.

Sorry- I didn't realize you could now tell armor "category" just by looking at it. I was thinking it had to be inferred by material or weight. Thanks for making unambiguous.
61786, can you explain plague of locust?

Used it a bit but was hard to get a read on. Didn't seem to affect the wilderness state of a room and couldn't tell if they were spreading or not. For the mana seemed like earthrend would be better for just pulling people out of hide/camo
61787, Also having this same problem. Seems broken.

Cant tell if it is doing anything or not. Never seemed to do anything to me.

Any insight Umi?
