6156, Shaman and daggers

Among the several things I thought about that might deserve attention for the shaman class, the one I thought most clearly suitable for the class. To wit: why do shamans (shamen?) not have the dagger skill?

Historically priests, especially a priest of the shaman role as most closely resembles a cf shaman, is the one to make sacrifices, blood sacrifices (even for "good" religions or sects), and certainly knows how to use a knife.

Also, the shaman in cf is the edged weapon person. But why not dagger? It is almost the standard weapon - more classes know that than any other if I remember correctly.

Lastly, I can't imagine it would be particularly unbalancing for the shaman to have the dagger skill. But I think it would fit the class very well.

Why would they need a dagger skill?

They know how to make a sacrifice using a dagger. But to fight with a dagger? I've never read or come across a priest fighting with a dagger. However I wonder why shamans don't have the mace skill. Maybe game balance or sematic-fit? Anyway, I have never figured out why.

Priests like to carry 'big' weapons as a sign or power or favour from his god. Like flails, maces, whips, axes. Can't remember daggers unless he's a priest of the god of rogues. In CF context, I don't think shamans should be able to use daggers in battle.

Hope my arguments say otherwise.
