5885, Pre-10 buying
Posted by DemonLlama on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Just a thought, but since pre-10's can now buy level 10- items, perhaps they could also browse them?

It occurs to me now that I never finished adding this capacity to Barter now either. Consider both on my short list.

you make it a great game for all of us, sure we do bitch and ####. but we love you for making it such a great game. yes, this might seem like some emotional outburst or bad attempt to suckup to you, but really it's not mentioned enough.

this might seem like some emotional outburst or bad attempt to suckup to you,
While I think a lot of us would be confused or annoyed by ebullient praise of the "OMGOMGOMG!" kind, the more garden-variety "Thank you. (n/t)" post is always appreciated.
I don't understand the people who feel the need to respond to "Nice job with X" posts or "I think the staff does a good job with X" posts with accusations of sucking up. Those people are right up there with Team Battlefield-Potshot and Team Can-Only-Rant-Not-Discuss in terms of sheer need of a hug/cookie/groinpunch/(*). I doubt that the people writing positive feedback are doing it because they expect some benefit from it.
If (almost) all the people on the boards are playing the game, it must have some positive qualities. Doesn't hurt anyone to point them out.

5944, Team Rant Unite!
Posted by ORB on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
As captain of team Rant, I would like a hug from Amaranthe, a chocolate chip cookie from you, and a playful groin punch from Jazur in full dominatrix outfit.
P.S. I like to think I'm an emotional poster who does occasionally have some good points...
P.P.S. Yeah good job on stuff lately, I've hardly had things to bitch about...Except commerce skills taking way too long to get and outlanders getting recycled lame powers.
P.P.P.S. You just love foot notes don't you?

5945, Are those like musical foot massages? (nt)

I could use one right now. Where's Jazur when you need her.. him? bah.

6014, Browse and barter updated for this.
Posted by Valguarnera on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Bleh. This kept slipping my mind. Coming soon to a reboot near you- newbies can browse or barter for any object of level 10 or lower.

5977, On a related topic....
Posted by Vladamir on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Why do we even have level based buying anymore? I mean, some shoppies I could see having this set level to buy things. Folks like weapons merchants in large cities, etcc. However I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense for a warrior, however untested, to not be able to buy that spiffy shamans robe or what have you at 11 because it's 18. (These are just thrown together examples and don't reflect the actual levels of the actual item, nor any warriors currently alive or dead. Any similarity is purely coincidental) If a guy has the money for something, I think, with a few exceptions, he ought to be able to buy it.
I also have issues with some of the shadier merchants not being willing to sell things based on level. Thief type merchants especially I think ought to not give a damn how "old" their clients are, so long as they have the cash.
Just my thoughts on the whole "level for purchase" dealie.
