I don't know what the rationale is. Scar might be able to help with that.

I'm not sure I buy that an average of 551 versus 661 qualifies as 'so much' shorter. Regardless, it's certainly not a constraint that has affected any frost giant ever in the history of the universe.

I blame the spring melt for their short lifespan.

I think it's probably an oversight, but I agree that it isn't a huge deal.
